My wife completed her biometrics appointment on Monday. How long generally until we see some sort of action on our case? Mainly we are wiating for her EAD. One income is ROUGH! She is anxious to be able to work and make some money. Can anyone give me an idea of how long until the EAD gets approved?

Nothing is certain with USCIS, of course, but my wife received her EAD text approval 2 days after biometrics and the actual card about a week after that.

Good luck and hope you hear something soon!

I did my biometrics on 6/10 and still have not received my EAD. May be because I did a walk in. My actual appointment was scheduled for 6/28. However, on all timelines I have seen as of lately, people receive an approval on EAD within a couple days of biometrics. I also called the service # to check on progress and was told that my application is in normal processing timelines and to call back if I have not heard anything within 75 days of my priority date.

Hang in there and Good luck :}

I knew the times would vary hehe. We all have learned that after going through this process this long. Thank you all for your responses. This gives me hope! She did not do a walk in she waited for her appointment date that they set for her.

Thanks all. Hopefully we can have two incomes soon. Bills arent paying themselves :blush:

How long ago did you file? You can usually expect the EAD about 2-3 months after you file. Sometimes faster, sometimes slower. My husband's was approved the same day, and arrived a week or so later, but he also waited 2.5 months for the biometric letter so everything else was just hinging on that.

Agree with ceadsearc. We waited 2 months after biometrics for EAD approval. When you do the biometrics usually doesn't change the overall time for EAD approval, which is 2-3 months from filing.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

hi there? i did a walk-in for the biometrics last week and until now, there's no response. i checked the uscis.gov and enter my receipt number but it says that it can't be found. do you think that they just don't update the site? coz i already had my biometrics done so it should be on the site. and i've heard that you can sign in at the site so you can receive text messages..is this for free? will this delay the process or something? thanks!

Signing up for text messages can be done for free at the USCIS website and won't delay the process at all.

Sometimes the receipt numbers are not in the system for one reason or another so you can't track them online. This happened with my husband's 485 even though all of the other paperwork (130, AP, EAD) showed up. His 485 did eventually show up online after several months. If you have any urgent questions in the meantime, you can call USCIS and ask.
