What do I have notarized?

I am starting to get stuff together for the next step in this process, which, is to send everything to my fiance for the interview. My question is, what needs to be notarized? I saw in one post they suggested to have the I-134f notarized. I was also planning on having the letter from my employer notarized. Anything else?

Absolutely nothing in the normal K-1 visa process needs to be notarized. Don't let anyone tell you differently.

Nothing HAS to be notarized. However, some documents are recommended to be notarized if translated (such as birth certificate and passport). In your case, since original documents such birth certificate of your foreign fiancee is in English, nothing should be notarized.

Our attorney had me get my SOI notarized and my fiance was told to get the letters of support notarized although she said it wasn't necessary, but preferable. I don't know the reason why, but we did because we don't want anything being delayed if possible.

Because your original documents are in other language. In this case NOTHING should be notarized.

Translations are "certified" by the translator, not "notarized". Exception is China, where the Consulate accepted translations come from the Notarial Office. It's not comparable to at US Notary. Translations MUST be (not are recommended to be) certified by the translator.
