AOS - A little worried

Hi All,

Here's the situation:

-My wife (who's american) and I filed my I-130 and I-485 package(including i-864 medical)the first week of January, 2011.

-We received NOA two weeks later

-I received my i-131 travel approval documents early March, 2011

-I completed my Biometrics March 16, 2011

Since then, I have not heard anything from USCIS. I called last week to check the status of my application because my receipt number (starts with MSC) does not show up with information on the USCIS Online check status site. They told me that they're still waiting on an approval to proceed further, and that so far it looks good. But, judging by what i've read in other forums on this site, it seems like many received their AOS interview typically into the 3rd month of their application.

My wife and I are a little worried because I've just graduated with a Master's degree and looking to apply for jobs. But, because I didn't apply for a temp work visa(i-765)concurrently in January, I may still be binded to my TN visa(which doesn't expire until Aug 2012). Is there anything we can do at this point?

Thank you in advance,

Kristian

You could send in your I-765 now with a copy of the NOA1 from your I-485 (to prove your eligibility and waive the fee). But besides that, no, your timeline is not slow at all. 3 months is the fastest it comes usually, but often it is slower than that.

You could join this thread here for March filers

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/297679-aos-march-2011-filers/

which is pretty lively and compare timelines.

I will also ask this post be moved to a different forum, this one is for people who had fiance visas.

Good luck!

What Harpa said. Also you should be posting here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/130-adjustment-of-status-from-work-student-tourist-visas/ as you aren't AOSing from a family visa, you're AOSing from a TN visa.

Thread moved from AOS from a family based visa to AOS from a work, Student & Tourist visa forum as a more appropriate location for this discussion.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
