Thanks for your input on my biometrics drama, everyone! We took a two-pronged approach. My husband express mailed another reschedule request with a detailed cover letter on Friday (so it arrived this morning). He then waited until late afternoon and showed up at the center again, this time with our flight reservation confirmation. Since they received his request this morning they were able to see that he had already gone through the paperwork and they were not nearly as busy as the first time he tried. After some sad faces they finally let him do a walk-in and he's officially processed!

They just don't make anything easy, do they?

Honeymoon in 4 days! Now we can relax and not worry about this application for a few days.

So glad you got the biometrics sorted out! Have a wonderful time on your honeymoon!

xx

In other news, my EAD expedite request was denied based on the grounds that no evidence was submitted. Ugh. I had submitted evidence with our original application. So we have contacted our congresswoman whose office is amazeballs in getting things done. Fingers crossed! Work is supposed to start in a couple of weeks!

Hello all!

I've been lurking on this site for the past week or so and finally decided to sign up and add my experiences to the conversation. I wish I had found this site years ago as I'm sure that the process would have been a lot faster and easier (and cheaper!!) for us. After getting married it took my DH and I almost 2 years to get the docs together to file my AOS application. Hopefully this will work in our favor and I will get the 10yr gc. We finally sent it out May 10th (we used a lawyer that has helped many people we know including some family members) and we're still waiting for the NOA1. We didn't file a g-1145 because we didn't know about it and none of the 5 lawyers we met with before deciding on this one even mentioned it in their list of forms. I guess that's what we get for not using the UCSIS site first. :bonk:

I'm a little nervous but trying not to pass my nervousness onto my husband. That's one of the reasons that I joined the site, talking to you guys will be far more helpful and productive then just nagging him all day. I'm calling the lawyer today to ask him to contact UCSIS to see why we haven't received any correspondence yet. Anyway, good luck to you all I sincerely hope we will all have much to celebrate in the coming months!! (L)

Welcome to VJ and good luck!!

Wow so by some fluke I just checked my uscis.gov status and for the first time ever I was able to see some info...

"On June 8, 2011, we mailed you an appointment notice for an interview for July 14, 2011, at NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER. Please follow the instructions on the notice. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283."

Looks like I have another month to wait. I wonder why we are being interviewed? At least no RFE! Yay! Hopefully EAD will come sooner! x

I didn't receive a letter stating my case was transferred anywhere. I did however check my online status today and for the first time my case number came up. I have been scheduled an AOS interview for next month - still no status updates for my AP or EAD at all on the website though.

I'm sure you'll hear something soon :)

I've got about the same timeline, but I'm getting really really anxious. I called the hotline about 5x already from the past month, but I don't see any updates on my status and they can't tell me anything, not even to tell me that my case has been transferred or assigned to a case officer yet. Grrrr! I have a standing job offer for a long time, and I am worried that my prospective employers will get tired of waiting for me especially since there's been a lot of developments in our company (we just got absorbed by a bigger company), and I would lose that very good opportunity. Grrr! (again)

I just called USCIS and they have no record of me yet... :o

The gentleman on the phone was very nice and said it can take up to 35 days, not 30 and that i shouldn't be alarmed yet. He suggested tracking the money order and seeing if it has been cashed and, if it has, to contact them immediately.

I'm trying not to be impatient and anxious but I also don't want to just sit here as if everything's fine and find out that it is not :(

So my AOS case is finally online and just says it' been transferred to a USCIS office. The EAD receipt number is still not coming up online :(

We were informed at the biometrics appt that the EAD should be 30 days....I don't think that verbal info is reliable at all.
