Event Description

Embassy Review : Let me just start by saying that I had originally been scheduled an appointment for May 10th 2011, but since I have a job offer to start in the summer I requested an earlier appointment. I emailed the embassy my work contract and they immediately emailed me back and rescheduled it to the following day. Amazing.

Had my interview at 10am, I arrived at around 9:20am and there was no one queued up at all. I went straight up and waited my turn. Five minutes later I was called up to the first window where someone checks that the paperwork is all in order. I submitted the MRV and express post envelope and the lady returned all my original documents I sent with Packet 3. I then had to sit back down and wait to be interviewed.

Five minutes later a lovely gentleman interviewed me, he asked me...
- Have you ever had any trouble obtaining a US VISA?
- Is it both your first wedding?
- Do either of you have any children?
- When did you first meet?
- How did the relationship develop?
- Where does your fiance work?

He then flipped through all the evidence my fiance submitted with the initial I-129f packet and then told me the VISA had been approved! I thought there was another fee for the issuance but apparently not. No mention of the affidavit at all or actual no mention of hardly anything.

Was in and out of the embassy in about 30 minutes. Brilliant.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
