I actually asked to speak with Tier 2 and the girl acted like she didn't understand me. She didn't blatantly refuse but she wouldn't transfer me either. I am wondering if the trip to their office for a meeting with them will be anything other then a waste of time & gas! I also wonder if having it expedited is even worth it being that we are at 6 months. When I asked why other people that had filed after me had been approved they said "every case is different, maybe yours needed more investigation." Neither of us have any criminal background so why would that be? Still trying to decide if I should just go in for the appointment or call back and demand to speak to tier 2 rep...

I contacted my Congressman and Senators . They are mixed reviews here on this but they were able to get my case expedited based on ONPT. It helped and i received my NOA2 after several days. Try it --it would not hurt to contact them .Good luck .

I think it's weird that you live in Texas but your petition was sent to Vermont?

Yes, I thought that was weird too, but I have seen many people who live in Texas whose files have gone to Vermont.

We all feel ur pain *hugs* right now its been 6 months and 1 wk tomm and still not a word. I called USCIS last week and they put in an inquiry for my petition. I've emailed them, emailed my congresswoman... Nothing. Today I get an email from USCIS that it is STILL in initial review AÑD they have another 30 days to make their devision even though I'm past the 6 month mark. My suggestion to you and all is to call as soon as the 5 month mark hits because now mine may turn into 7 months, God forbid! They are the worst

The USCIS received our application on October 27, 2010. Still NOTHING! I have called several times & all they say is "It is in review." What should I do? We really can't afford an attorney right now. Any ideas? I am worried that there is a problem as it has been so long now...

:(

A lawyer will not help you at this moment in time. Unfortunately, "in review" means that its probably sitting under a pile of other application on a desk in Vermont. I've read about other people who have contacted a Tier 2 operator or contacted their local gov't official. These are good alternatives to keep yourself busy, but at the end of the day, your application will finally be opened and taken care of.

Our application was October 2010 as well. I just recieved it NOA2 last week. I felt the same way, anxious and helpless. Unfortunately, there are many people in your situation waiting. Just be patient and you should recieve it soon. Good luck!

I am going to wait till the appointment with immigration on Thursday. If we don't get answers or feel that they are making progress I will contact the Senators & Congressman. I am really hopeful & prayerful that I will get an officer who is compassionate & can help us understand what is taking this long! If not, the congressman's office is right on the way home, I will be stopping there after I leave!
