Hello Guys,

It has been a while since i last logged in.

We just got our petition approved and National Visa Center have the papers. I am preparing the affidavit of support and preparing sophie for the interview.

Question : I heard stories like they inspect the new arrival into united States at the airport and ask questions!!! Is this true? Or is it just she needs to hand over the package embassy gives & then they just take her finger prints and admit her with a stamp to her I-94? Is there another interview at the POE?

Do they ask once again evidence to prove any marriage plans like wedding invitation cards? I am worried that as we ar planning to have a very small wedding only 6 people attends. So, there won't be any invitation cards. Can someone give us some experience please?

Thank you so much.

I've heard they do ask some questions, and I would expect that. I also believe if you travel with your partner to the POE, they'll ask both partners, separately, questions.

Normally, spousal & fiance(e) entrants aren't hassled too much at POE, because CBP figures that the beneficiary has been run through the wringer at the consulate. That said, CBP can refuse entry to anyone for any reason that the consulate could have come up with. Nevertheless, the chances of trouble are low, so simply turn in the sealed envelope and don't worry about anything else. :)

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Stop believing such nonsense... and best to stop perpetuating it as well

Typically there is very little in the way of an 'interview' at the POE - for a better idea of what happens at a POE (even the specific one you might be traveling through) - visit the POE review section for what other VJ members have experienced.

Do they ask once again evidence to prove any marriage plans like wedding invitation cards? I am worried that as we ar planning to have a very small wedding only 6 people attends. So, there won't be any invitation cards. Can someone give us some experience please?

Virtually none that I've ever heard.

At most, they normally just ask the normal questions you get when you come in the POE. Sometimes they might ask the beneficiary things like "Welcome to America *stamp I-94*. Do you know what you have to do next?". Just simple things which we all know, so don't worry about it.

Most of the time CBP agents are friendly,(have been for me at all my POEs over the last several years at JFK, Newark, O'Hare, Atlanta and Dulles) some have even joked around and asked out of interest about the K-1 visa. Got the same person one time coming back from Brazil and he asked how the petition was coming along etc.

So again, don't worry about it. Also read the reviews for POE here: http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/poereviews.php and see what questions were asked, if any.

Nothing is needed at the POE other than Passport, and immigrations packet. You will be asked a few questions, fingerprint, photo taken, and I-94 card stamped.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

What exactly are you insinuating? Nevertheless, you struck my curiosity enough to ask my friend who traveled with her Brazilian fiancé, where my belief came from. They entered through Houston, and yup, both were asked questions. Basic questions about their partner, but yes, both were asked questions. So I'll continue believing that, thank you.

Maybe some do ask and others do not ask.

For my wife, they only informed her about the need to marry within 90 days. She responded that she understood.

For the OP;

Question : I heard stories like they inspect the new arrival into united States at the airport and ask questions!!! Is this true?

Maybe some questions but if you don't know the answer to those, you would never have been given the visa at the Embassy. Don't worry.

Or is it just she needs to hand over the package embassy gives & then they just take her finger prints and admit her with a stamp to her I-94?

Maybe this simple but do expect them to engage them in some sort of conversation. Smiling and saying thank you is suggested.

Is there another interview at the POE?

Not unless they suspect you of being a terrorist or smuggling drugs or contraband. Suggestion is to not engage in these activities or pretend to.

Do they ask once again evidence to prove any marriage plans like wedding invitation cards? No
