What is "too much" and "not enough"?

Hello everyone!

My fiance and I are December Filers, and I was mostly given the task to fix our evidences while waiting for NOA2. I would just like to know how much evidence do we need? I have hundreds of pages of chat transcripts, tons of pictures, about a hundred of snail mail letters, tons of receipts. Should I show everything? There are so many. Any advice from people who have gone through this already? Thanks so much.

Hi,

i took to the interwiew 25 photos, a year worth of phone logs showing calls every day between us, 50 emails , about 50 chat logs all the emails and chat logs during the 4 years of relationship, 2 post cards and it was enough.

Good luck.

its about how u bring urself during the interview some evidences ur bringing sometimes they dont ask for it just like what happened to my interview they never asked for anything other than pics.esp. the affidavit of support and offcourse he needs to meet the 125%poverty line for his income i guess this is the most important thing asked by the CO that u prove that u will not be a burden to his country when u get here but still u have to be prepared when u come to ur interview u never know what he/she will ask from u or things that he wanna see to prove ur relationship are true just let urself be prepared for everything happens Godbless.

More than a couple pounds of paper is too much. Concentrate on examples, not killing trees.

Thanks everyone for your replies!

Hmm.. I understand. Because If I was to bring all our evidences, I think that's one or two half a century old trees. There are just too many. I was thinking of start of relationship.. and the current ones. Is that okay?

I would spread the examples over the entire relationship. Skipping a month or two is fine but for example if an 18 month relationship, make sure you have some examples from at least half of the months. A little extra for beginning and end is good.

That's what I was thinking also. I'm just overwhelmed with how much we have.. they are too many!!! It's a lot of work. When you had your interview, did you put all the evidence in a clearbook or anything of that sort to make it organized? Is that okay with the embassy? Because I was planning to put it in a clearbook, like a scrapbook, only it's a formal one since it's official papers. Would that be okay?

The beneficiary won't be able to pass over any notebook size item. Just organize it and hold it together with a binder clip. You may be overwhelmed because you already killed the trees and have it on paper. Much easier to print logs and examples than to poor through things already printed.

I actually had mine arranged in a 3 inches thick heavy duty binder and it is already filled with the receipts, letters, chat logs, phone bills, pictures and of course the required document for my interview. I am still planning to bring the photo albums & scrapbooks I have created. I know its too much & I dont want bring a check-in luggage in the embassy but thats how my mom sees it because I am (until now) clueless as to what and what's not to bring so this topic is really helpful.

Each country is probably different (and indeed each interview). I'd rather take too much than not enough, but when we put our packet together we definitely concentrated on quality of evidence, not quantity.

At my K1 interview in London they didn't ask for any proof. They just asked a few questions and asked for the appropriate forms. They did ask me if I had visited him since we filed (I had) and my interviewer brought up the picture taken of me at my POE on VWP as they must have access to this information through their network.

Good luck with everything!

At the pre-screener window the slot at the bottom is 12"W x 1" H and has a curved bottom, all your creativity won't fit unless you take it out of the binders!

My docs are arranged in a heavy duty binder and are subdivided per category on an A4 size 3-holed plastic filler. so if the consul would like to examine like for example the receipts I can just pull it out from the binder and slip it under the slot of her window.

The scrapbook book is a different story its more of flipping over the pages if ever she should asked for it.
