"Talk to the Hand: The Utter Bloody Rudeness of the World Today, or Six Good Reasons to Stay Home and Bolt the Door" by Lynne Truss (damn funny, recommend it to anyone), and "Hey, Girlfriend! Live Passionately Real" by Michelle Neujahr (who is actually a friend of mine, so it's nice that I enjoyed her book!).

Under the Banner of Heaven: A Story of Violent Faith by Jon Krakauer. A very interesting look at the origins of the Mormon church, with some thought provoking comments about fanaticism/extremism/fundamentalism in general---a timely read considering current events.

HOUSE OF STONE -- by Christina Lamb

It's about the recent civil wars in Zimbabwe (particularly about the taking back of white-owned--stolen-- agricultural land by the post-independent government)

It's told from the perspective of a rich, white, Zimbabwean and a poor, black Zimbabwean who is part of a group that wants to re-claim "stolen" land (from when Zimbabwe had been colonized....the rhodesias, remember?) from the whites. Good read...very informative...it's a very hard situation in Zimbabwe, to resolve....
