Hi everyone..

Any updates?

It's been one week since USCIS received our AOS package and nothing - no notification, no check cashed.

I'm not worried yet but the I-129F check was cashed within 2 days of being received so I was hoping. And, I never thought anything could be slower than that process.

Oh well... If we don't see or hear anything sometime this week, I'll start to wonder about it more.

N-400

Feb. 12, 2016 - Sent N-400 to USCIS (3-year rule)

Feb. 19, 2016 - NOA1

Mar. 14, 2016 - Biometrics

Hi Ryna,

Our packet was send overnight on 03/10/2011 and so it arrived on 03/11/2011 and nothing yet on our part!

Crossing our fingers for some news this week.

I did run to another member who send her packet on 02/28/2011 and did not receive any news until 03/22/2011. I'm hoping that is not our case but keeps pointing to that direction... :crying:

I sent my package on march 03 and I got NOA1 on march 28

good luck to all of us!!!

:wow::o

That is a lot of time to wait for a response. If immigration is so overwhelmed with applications why don't they hire more personal!!!

This waiting game is not fun! :crying:

Hello. Newbie to VJ here. Came across this thread and thought it would be great to join in with march filers like my husband and I. After preparation of our packet we sent it in march 18 and it was received by uscis march 20 via USPS. We received our NOA letters in the mail for i130, i485, and i765 march 28 (8 days after it was rcvd). so far that's it. waiting for biometrics schedule. Feeling grateful for finally being able to process papers.

Wishing luck to those who are still waiting.

Good morning everyone,

Does anyone know who cashes the checks? Is it the lockbox? Or, do they forward it on to the local offices who then cash the check? This could explain why some receive notices very quickly while others wait. I can't think of any other reason why they wouldn't at least initiate the process in the order they were received. I understand some cases take longer than others but to get an NOA1 should be fairly consistent (if it's done at the same place.)

Good luck everyone!

I completely agree! I can't figure out how some of us have received our text alerts in 2 days and others in 2+ weeks. Our check was cashed right away in Chicago and then forwarded to the national benefit center. Do you think the varying notification times is a result of the difference in the 2 Chicago addresses? I sent mine fedex overnight so I used one Chicago address. If I had sent it regular usps it goes to another one... Maybe one sorts and processesmail faster than the other? Or perhaps they combine all the mail-or transfer all the mail from one address to the other main location and that is why they aren't consistent? My guess is as good as yours, but there are people who filed days before me who haven't heard anything yet!!

I sent ours to the Express (overnight) address, too. I really have no idea but at least I now know the checks are cashed in Chicago! It hasn't really been that long (9 days for us) but it just has me wondering why they don't seem very anxious to take our money! laughing.gif

haha yeah, seriously! Ok so I guess my theory was #######! I was trying to make logic out of something completely not logical. 9 days isn't so long though. You will hear something soon :)
