I am sure no one here hates you. This is just a stressful environment (immigration). I try to keep the peace but it is good to remember that sometimes people say things out of frustration with the process and not really because of something you say.

Here's the thing though...she doesn't have to prove anything to you or anyone else on this board. Why can't you just take people at their word??? If she says she was harrased over her English skills. then I'm betting she was harrased. Should we reply to the terrible topic in the other board and ask them to provide proof that this guys Dad in Houston was shot? I dont think so!!!

You're missing the point. I'm not asking for proof from her. If she feels it happened, then in her mind and perception it happened.

I'm responding more to the cries of "you're all so mean", "VJ is going downhill" etc, with several people taking up the cause to proclaim things that may or may not be true. Either this is a rampant problem that should be obvious everywhere or it's an isolated incident that falls into the he said/she said category.

Immigration and visas and all the stuff included are extremely stressful...I've been there. So when one person perceives something and everyone jumps on that bandwagon, I don't think it's completely out of line to question if some of "the drama" or "the upset" might not be tinged with the underlying stress. So for ME, a person reading all this with no concept of what actually occurred, I'd like to SEE what was said. So I can make the informed decision without making a blanket statement that all these things have happened.

I mean, in reality, you weren't very nice to me in the last post, making implications. Or were you doing that? Did I perceive those? Is my perception different because my green card is in my hands and I'm not wound up tight with stress over my immigration? Maybe...

And just as a side point, no, there's no reason to lie about this, but after several years on various message boards there are people who will lie about just about anything. Why? I don't know...maybe because it gives them attention they don't otherwise get. Or there are such things as chronic liars or people with mental illnesses who do frequent message boards. And some people do this for no better reason than to stir the pot and that they "can".

Is any of that the case here? I have no idea. But I've seen enough to doubt what anyone and everyone says on a message board.
