I am also going for my Gren Card interview in Houston Texas in about 4weeks and it is based on an approved I-360 petition (VAWA). Can anyone tell me what to expect during this interview? Will questions relating to my marriage be asked, since I am divorced? Please kindly help!!

I also scheduled for interview for March 1st and wondering what is going to be. What I heard that they are not supposed to ask about the abuse. I am divorced too and just hardly managed to send out the petition before the divorce was finalized.

I had my interview yesterday. I was told at the beginning that I have to wait for the visa number to become available again (my ex was an LPR), but they do the interview. It was very short. The officer asked for my passport and driver license. Checked my address and then just went through the no questions from the I-485 form and marking each questions she asked. She asked the question if I had a J1 visa when I told her the truth that I had. She wanted to add that to the file.

There was no question regarding to the marriage or divorce. She didn't ask for neither the marriage license nor the divorce degree.

I was also asked if I had any orders of protection. I had the originals and copies with me. They are not supposed to ask about your marriage or abuse since that was already adjudicated in Vermont with the I-360 petition.

I took all of my paperwork with me just in case though... I was asked for my passport and birth certificate and all the questions on the I-485. My passport was stamped at the end of my interview which lasted about 15 minutes. Being divorced will not be an issue.

Good luck!

My cases? Hum nothing yet, just got my removal administrily close early this week and now waiting for the interview notice to come in the mail hopefully soon. My lawyer also told me that it is possible to get my green card without going to an interview, I don't know if that is true or not. Will see.

Hi Stillhere, I just had my I360 approved. did you file a new I485 or did you use the one you had pending. I had my previous I485 held in abeyance until the adjudication of the I360, so I am not sure if I still can use it... :innocent: not sure how to proceed.

I just got my i360 approved. I want to know the timeline for work permit. Also how did you guys prepare. I read that you were asked questions on i864 . Can you elaborate a little? Lastly, how would you go about explaining to an employer that you have applied for the work permit and still waiting for response? Please advice
