sent the reply to our RFE in today. hoping everything will move without problems from here. And I also saw that the RFE on the AOS does pause the EAD's processing, it says so in the letter we got. So, my question was unnecessary, thanks for answering it anyway frenzyheart

a combined card for AP and EAD sounds great!

No worries some are transferred before biometrics and some after biometrics....Biometrics is scheduled at your local ofc so it just depends on how busy they are and there available dates...

Thanks Patient2010! A friend's mum once told us how busy the NYC office can get hence we felt happy when the case was transferred to CSC. We are praying for a fast rest of the process and for everyone too.

Well, we got (what I"m guessing) is the equivalency of NOA2 today - just the paper telling us it was transferred to California. Hopefully it's a speedy approval from here! We keep joking that it'd be pretty hilarious if he got his green card before his EAD, lol. (It's happened to people in the past...)

Glad your case is back rolling, sorchaine! :D

Viv's bio appointment was the 14th. I got the impression that our local office isn't very big - there certainly wasn't much room between the elevator we came out of and the metal detector. The contract guard folks asked me to wait outside due to space limitations, which was fine - it's in a nice little complex of buildings with a nice outdoor pedestrian area and seating and restaurants and stuff - and she was done in maybe 15 minutes.

VisaJourney had estimated that she'd get her EAD and AP in the April 16-28 timeframe, but the folks who talked to her at the local office said they thought she'd get it before then - March 27-April 15. We'll wait and see, but we're hopeful.

Also... are RFEs usually issued as soon as the initial packet is received? They've had our stuff for over a month, so I'm just curious whether we still have to worry about getting an RFE, or whether having not got one by now is a good sign. :)

You can get an RFE at any time during the process. In a way I'm glad ours was so early so we could get it taken care of fast, already had the stuff printed since I knew what it was probably for when I got the email/text that we had an RFE.

Hi!

Here is the link to AOS from this website:

http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1k3aos

Also, you may want to check www.uscis.gov/forms to check for the latest for. Check the link above and see what forms you need and then check here http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.eb1d4c2a3e5b9ac89243c6a7543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=db029c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1RCRD&vgnextchannel=db029c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1RCRD to check what editions of the form are accepted. Each form comes with instructions on how to fill it in, what documents you need to send with it, and where to send it. It is pretty self-explanatory, but please feel free to ask whatever question you may have. You may also want to use the search field on this website and look at other k-1 holders' timelines to compare with yours.

Good luck!

Applied for AoS on feb10th

Receipt Date: Feb 14th

Case transfered to CSC: March 14th

Touched: March 16th

No Biometrics yet: This has got me worried now because Buffalo NY isnt busy at all.

Since ours too was outside the 30 days period for the biometrics, my wife called USCIS and the customer service agent initiated a service request for us. He gave us a code and told us to wait for more 30 days. We are from the NYC area and seems the field offices in NYC are backed up but we are waiting on the mail from them. We shall update you on how everything goes.

Any one ever got a service request code? How can it help with speeding up the process?

Thank you!

Hi Taatabunny,

I'm sorry, I don't have a definite answer about the service request, but my understanding is that they are giving themselves 30 days to go look into your case and figure out what the hold up is. I think in a lot of cases, the situation resolves itself within those 30 days. I hope you get your letter soon!

I thought I would give a quick review of my biometrics appointment last week. The ASC in Denver, Colorado, is a little hard to find. It's located in a strip mall; it looks really ghetto, with hardly any signage in the front of the office. Seeing the place answered my previous question: they are not processing any applications there. Solely taking fingerprints and photographs.

Ladies, don't forget to bring your marriage certificate if you don't have any I.D. with your new name on it.

I brought the AP NOA1 with me just in case, and they stamped it and said I would get an biometrics appointment letter for the I-131 and to ignore it. I think they might be wrong about this one, but it doesn't matter. I'm pretty convinced the left hand doesnt know what the right hand is doing in that organization!

Yup we did the service request too and were given the request number and asked to wait 30 days. We are leaving on a vacation next month and are hoping that the Biometrics appt doesnt come in between our vacation. Hopefully everything goes good.

Goodluck to you
