Hi,

I am curious about what people might think is an average timeframe for NOA1???? The VJ k1 Flowchart says 2-3 weeks, but looking at the signature panel below users posts, I have seen a lot with this timeframe and a lot that have dates adding upto only 4-6 days?????

I'm not the most patient person around LOL, I know the wait between NOA1 & NOA2 is going to feel like forever to me. We sent our package off on January 24, any suggestions or comments?

Regards,

Wayne.

I assume where you indicate Texas Service Center that you sent it to the Texas lockbox.

It hasn't even been a week for you. Give it another 2 weeks before pushing the panic button.

Did you send it by Express Mail or at least certified mail, so you can track it with the Post Office?

Usually takes about 1-2 weeks, but you really need to work on your patience. If waiting two weeks is hard you are going to really struggle waiting for your NOA2

Was your check cashed? If so, consider that to be your NOA1. If it still doesn't arrive after 30 days AND the check has been cashed, call USCIS and request for them to send a new one. They won't do anything before 30 days. If the check is cashed, relax and try to be patient while waiting...and waiting...and...

Mine took 9 days. Usually takes 10 days to receive anything (NOA1 & NOA2) in the mail from USCIS. Perhaps longer now that petitions are now are mailed to TSC and then forwarded to the appropriate service center.

1-2 weeks doesn't bother me in the slightest, I know this will be a long, but rewarding process... just trying to figure why some, like Channah&Aaron's only take a few days??? Congrats to everyone, regardless of what stage they are at :) and thanks for the replies everyone!

ours took 4 days...but i know yours will be there soon... don't waste your patience in NOA1... you need that in you NOA2 .. good luck both of you..

I agree with AcrossTheMiles. Please don't waste your patience this soon because you have no idea what's coming up ahead of you. If you think 1 week is tough, 5 months and longer will feel like hell for you. If I were you, after you receive your NOA1, I would simply immerse yourself with work, talk with your fiancee, enjoy life, have fun on the weekends, and spend time with your family. Don't make the same mistake I made by checking your Case Status on the USCIS every few days because nothing will ever change. My case status is still on "Initial Review" after more than 5 months. My fiancee and I are finally impatient for our NOA2, but even after all this time, impatience does nothing beneficial in your life. Just know that once you mail in your I-129F petition, you have handed over your life to the U.S. government. It's really as simple as that. Good luck and please put your mind on other things because, although the K-1 visa is relatively faster than other marriage-based visas, 5 months and longer will still feel like an eternity.
