Ok, I dont know if I am in the right thread , If am in the wrong one pls feel free to move my post..

Ok, to start it off,First of all , I entered the united states as a K1 visa, now I already live in the US with my husband and when I got here, we finished all the

Interview Me and My husband at the Dept. of Homeland and Security, and its been already like more than 6mos. that I got a temporary green card

coz they gave me a conditional type so we need to file another paper before the 2nd year of our wedding anniversary thats gonna be on the year 2012,

and heres the thing...

I won a free trip for two vacation at any in the states or world wide, but uhmmm... of course I cant like travel outside the US.

but theres an option that you will choose to which state you wanna spend that vacation, or 4/3 nights carnival cruise,

this carnival cruise requires a passport, and the others of course the vacation trip allows us to use a plane to go to any state we want so basically I need a passport.

but my problem is I have a passport which was issued in my country, and my visa is already expired, coz its good for 3mos. right? coz I entered in the US as

K1 .... so yeah... thats the thing ...

well it would be great if we could use this free vacation coz its gonna be our first year anniversary since we came up with my husband on planning a vacation on our anniversary last month before I was notified I that I won this vacation trip.. Its a good thing anyway, coz its a 2 free vacation trip inside our outside the US.

:( ....so yes.. I hope you could help me guys on this...

and I appreciate your help ^.^

I need opinions too..please feel free..

Thank you in Advance and God bless!

IF you have a conditional 2 year green card you can travel In the united states and outside of the states as you are a Us permenant resident. Is your ppassport still valid? You already used your k-1 so that expiry does not matter, and to my knowledge you have finished the process for now(until 2 years from now.)You can travel using your valid passport and your Green card.

A green-card IS a green-card, a 2 year card is NOT a "temporary card" is it a card with conditions attached.

Wedding anniversary has NOTHING to do with when you file to remove conditions, you file to remove the conditions sometime within 90 days before your 2 year conditional status expires.

You can travel with a 2 year card, just like with a 10 year card it makes no difference.

A green-card holder can visit Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean without any visas, and other countries may or may not need a visa depending on your citizenship.

A K-1 visa is only valid for entry to the USA, once used it is no longer needed, the visa's expiration date is only for that one entry. Your green-card is then used for future entries.

Once you have your green card you can return to the US using it until it expires. You will travel to other countries using your passport and with the same restrictions as though you aren't here. ( my husband is Nigerian and needs visas for almost everywhere outside the US ) So if we want to travel to Europe I can travel with no issues and he needs to get visas.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Always check where ever you are going to see if you can get in without a visa with your Philippine passport. You will find you need a visa in some places ( not nearly as bad as my Nigerian husband) Visa reqirements for Philippine passport

Please keep in mind holders of US Green Cards ARE treated differently by neighboring countries than people without. Again a green card holder is allowed visa free travel into Canada Mexico and the countries of the Caribbean. The link you provide does not make mention it only assumes non US residents.

The link I provided in several places states that there are admission rules for holders of US green cards. The link you provided provided me with bad information about visa requirements for my husband when I sampled it.

Not to be in anyway negative, I just wanted to verify that you know that the source of this Vacation prize is reputable and have researched it. I only bring this up because I know someone who was nearly duped by a similar sounding offer which turned out to be a scam. I'm feel fairly certain you are not in the same boat but i felt the need to mention even if its just to warn others in the VJ community who could potentially receive a scam vacation package as my friend did (looked legit and seemed to come from a semi legit source).
