Oh #######, I think we got an RFE. Our AVR message changed from "NVC has review your packet of documents and found information to be missing or incomplete. A letter was sent on January 5th, 2011..." to "(same)...a letter was sent on January 7th, 2011." The letter sent on January 5th was the false checklist requesting the IV packet...so I guess they reviewed the IV packet, found something missing, and sent another letter. I really wish I had known yesterday when I could have talked to a person about it! Now I just have to anxiously await the email. I just went through my copy of our IV packet, and I can't find anything missing. The only things I can think of that it might be are that (a) my husband only signed one of his 2 legal last names on the forms; (b) our marriage certificate was typed up by the courthouse in the DR with really light ink (I considered it legible, but maybe it's not good enough for them); © they lost something. We shall see!!!

If it's a true RFE I hope it's just a minor problem. But I wish it's just the false RFE the AVR was referring about.

Thank you Taya,

Kikapoo, i think the AVR it wrong, they put it wrong, look at my case, you got AVR said like me, my husband got the email Checklist missing doc on Jan 5, request DS230 and full civil docs, but i already sent to them, after that Jan 7, i sing in Failde, my husband call them once again, my case complete !, don't worry my friend, your case will be fine.

Thanks for the hope, but I got the same message as you on January 5th--missing or incomplete, a letter sent to me on Jan. 5th (which was the false checklist). Now it's saying a letter was sent to me on January 7th. Logically, this would be a new letter for a new problem. But I certainly wouldn't complain if it were a glitch, and it ends up being the same false checklist! Hopefully I'll get the email tomorrow.

By the way, what's up with the ghetto email system that takes 2-3 days to deliver an email? Is that just because of high volume or something? It's infinitely better than snail mail, but still weird!

Just joining up......hoping that our situation will help others have hope.

We got K1 approval on 28 Dec, and NVC fwd our app to the embassy on 3 Jan and we just got our letter from NVC today (yesterday, as my lazy a$$ didn't check the mail yesterday). Can't wait to see how long the embassy process takes. That is what we worry about now. The app was DHL to Manila on the 3rd, they MUST have it by now.......

Thanks K and Kikapoo!! :)

Rie- The priority date is the date that is on your NOA1& NOA2. This date has more importance if the person in the US who applied for you is not a US Citizen (for example: they are a Legal Permanent Resident). If your husband is a US Citizen, there aren't any limitations on the number of visas for that category so there is no need to worry about the priority date. If your husband is a Legal Permanent Resident then there are limitations on the number of visas for that category. If this is the case, you will want to check you priority date against the travel.state.gov website list of current processing dates for priority dates.

I hope that made sense :) I'm sure someone will come along and give you further assistance.
