I am currently working on putting together the K-1 visa application package for my fiance and I. I am just wondering how much is too much? We have thousands and thousands of pages of skype and yahoo conversations, hundreds of pictures, emails, greeting cards, receipts, etc. I am wondering also how I should actually organize it all? Can I use a 3 ring binder and sheet protectors with different sections tabbed? I saw the guide on this site, but I am wondering how other people, who have had their visa's approved, have packaged and organized their applications.

Photos and pictures and e-mails are secondary evidence. You want to focus your petition on primary evidence, proof that you've met and spent significant time together - things such as bording passes, hotel receipts, etc.

Secondary evidence is helpful, but thousands of e-mails and hundreds of photos is WAY too much. pick from from the duration of your relationship and leave the rest

Good luck

PS - what country is your fiance from?

The USCIS page "General Tips on Assembling Applications for Mailing" says these are "tips" and not "requirements", but I followed them in hopes of everything being processed more expeditiously. They want holes punched on the top of the documents, with tabs on the bottom of the sheets to separate sections. Hope this helps! I provided only a summary log of the 3 most recent months calls, sms messages and skype calls (was about 10 pages of each).

It is all up to the CBP. By 'significant' I generally mean quality, not quantity. For example, I've seen people travel to the beneficiaries home country, get married, and leave to file - obviously that can raise flags

Good luck

see you dont need to send many secondary evidence with your first package, cause you will be given a chance to add any secondary evidence you would like to add for the interview.

i know people advice you to put a couple of pictures and emails in your I-129F ,its only because that petition will be handed down to the embassy and people think it will make a good impression,i personally didnt do it.we sent in primary evidence, like stamps in me and my fiance's passport, boarding passes, copies of tickets, and for the peace of mind of the fiance, just three pictures.

I suggest you print 1 email/photo chat for each month of this year so 12 pages. Also print out a few pictures but like said above there is no reason to Go overboard. You should however make sure to send any documents showing you've met.

CBP (Customs and Border Protection) doesn't make any decisions in the process of obtaining a visa. Consular officers are the ones that evaluate all evidence of a bona fide ongoing relationship and USCIS only cares about primary evidence of meeting in person during the past two years, not how much time you spent together.

USCIS decides whether a petition is approved. Once the petition is approved, the beneficiary of that petition is the one who applies for a visa at a US Consulate abroad. A Consular officer then evaluates the relationship bona fides with an interview. The interview can include evaluating evidence presented about time spent together and how and how frequently you communicate.

Don't confuse a petition with a visa application.

Yeah don't go over board a few and I mean a few emails maybe 2 from each month for the last 3 months, chat records same and 3-4 pics, boarding passes and stamps in passport are what they need now for petition. And letter of intent to marry. Your fiancee can add more for interview when she goes for her visa. They just want to know that you have met and you are going to marry and that it is a bonafide relationship.

Divorced !st November 2012.

Married only 2 years 1 month
