OMG Jamila!!!!!!!!!! So good to see you here! How's the teaching going? You're almost finished, yes?

Kadir is back in Adana since yesterday so very happy about it!

Love to you and Mark,

Mari

Hi Mari!

I know I've been in MIA. I actually just started teaching another class a couple of weeks ago. I should be grading now, but I'm just too tired. I'm going to sleep soon.

I'm so glad to hear Kadir made it back home!!! Mark and I are just (inpatiently) waiting for his interview date so I can make my travel plans to Guyana.

To all my fellow Decemberites...I hope all is well. I noticed a few more people have gotten NOA2. Congrats! Those that have not...hang in there! It will come sooner than later.

Thank you alot Jamila, it helps but I want to know if you didn't ask them to transfer they would not do it ? I mean if I let it go like that I will be interviewed in Paris and not Suriname?

If all embassies operate the same you have to ask in writing for the file to be transferred to another embassy. They won't just do it...you have to ask. You will have to submit your paperwork and interview in Paris if you don't ask for it to be transferred to the embassy in Suriname. You may even have to do your medical in Paris....but I'm not 100% sure about that.

Did your packet 4 contain a letter stating your name, case number and the date and time of your appointment? Most embassies require this for you to be admitted. Kind of like my birthday parties.

This packet instructs you to schedule your interview online, you get a confirmation of your interview date then, I will bring both. I checked with other Canadians going to Montreal and this is what they did. This letter clearly states it is packet 4, has my case number, name, etc. They end by 'looking forward to seeing you at your interview"....I am looking forward to hearing, "Welcome to America"!

I actually broke out the ruler and I think the box on the form Dipu was sent measured 2.5" x 2.5". I just thought it was hysterical that they would give such specific instructions and a sample picture and the sample picture was WRONG! It's probably a conspiracy because the embassy in New Delhi has a photographer who will take your pic that day for $50.

I understand the size (2x2) to be American specific requirements for passport photos; I had a set done here and he printed them as 2.5 x 2.5 (Canadian standard). Having read so many posts on RFEs I called him and asked if he could reprint in the 2x2 format, which he did at no extra charge. He knew right away that they were for American immigration and not Canadian. So, in the end I have 6 2x2 and 6 2.5x2.5 photos :hehe:

Mari, NO I DID NOT PHYSICALLY RECEIVE PAKCET 3 IN THE MAIL. I called DoS and she confirmed 3 times that packet 3 had been mailed on May 5th. I messaged other Canadians who had gone through this stage and they all strongly urged me to send the documents ahead. Many from Montreal had not physically received the packet 3 letter or else they got it after packet 4, in one instance only the petitioner received it  So, next is my medical in Toronto on Aug 2nd and Montreal interview Aug 23!

I figure after you KNOW the consulate has entered your data in their computers, and you're ready...full steam ahead. It would drive me crazy sitting there waiting on all the forms to get to us when I know we're ready already. Once DOS said the case was logged, it was all systems go as far as we were concerned!

Hopefully we'll know our interview date in the next 3 - 4 weeks

Guess what came in the mail today......packet 4 saying I am ready for my interview!!! It was postmarked May 27th; received June 2nd. Never did receive packet 3 in the mail

I am slightly confused at the instruction to bring the appointment letter showing the date and time of your interview, is it the website confirmation? And I packed box 19 for the POE, butterfly city in my stomach...can't wait for August!!!

Hope everyone has a nice day,

Lise

Oh man. My packet 3 apparently left the same consulate on May 27 and I still haven't received it, and you live way up in Thunder Bay, no? I'm convinced packet 3 is cursed or that some consulate employee is hording them as souvenirs. Good thing I just went ahead and sent it in anyways and I just confirmed that it was signed for yesterday. Hoping to hear about packet 4 soon so I can book my interview! How did you end up getting packet 4 Lise? Given that our fabulous postal system is now on strike, I'm seriously hoping it has nothing to do with them.

Yes, I live way up in Thunder Bay, the 'forgotten' part of Ontario. Packet 4 was delivered via Canada Post yesterday,I was expecting an email...go figure??? I was quite surprised and lucky, my daughter however may have to wait for her birthday gift, which I mailed via Canada Post...silly me!

Hi Guys! I have been wondering in the desert of Eastern Oregon for a week with my 15 year old son, seriously we had great fun! Also we have managed to book Jenie Bee's interview for July 6th, later than I hoped for but at least we have a date to look forward to. Now she just has to survive the medical exam and all should be good! Okay, now I am off to research how to schedule the medical exam!!

It's funny I remember a few months ago coming to our thread like 100 times a day, also checking Igor's list, visiting the portal page etc.. Now everything is moving so quickly, seems like I barely have time!!! Does anyone else feel this way?? It's so exciting!!!

Well, 6 weeks later and tons of bribes, er, fees later, we still don't have a passport clearance certificate. Dipu has been to his hometown twice now. The police have done everything they need to do and forwarded all information to the passport office. Now I just need someone to get of his or hear lazy behing or forgo tea time to print a piece of paper and place a stamp in his passport.

This is so frustrating!

Even more frustrating...I'm a fly by the seat of my pants type of gal and I think we should turn in packet 3 now and bank on getting the PCC prior to the interview. Mr. Conservative Dipu says no way, no packet 3 until the passport is in hand. Sigh. I just want a stinking interview date so I have something to look forward to.

I had no luck with the NVC until I received a letter from them stating that my case had been forwarded to the Embassy. Make sure if you call NVC talk to a real person not the automated system that seems to not work very well.. Good luck!!!
