we were supposed to have our AOS interview on monday, but today I got this letter saying that due to unforeseen circumstances, our interview has been canceled and that they will let us know of any further action. :crying::crying::crying::crying:

What the hell is this??? Not to mention that we had our plane tickets ready, and they are not refundable. should we go nonetheless and see what happens? :help:

did anybody have the same experience?

If you have the tickets and they're non-refundable, it certainly can't hurt to go. I would go and take proof that the tickets were non-refundable.

In the event they don't allow you to proceed with your interview, rather than ruin the trip have a look into what else you can get up to in the place you're going (before you leave have alternate plans) so it's not a total loss :)

You're not the first person to get this letter but I definitely don't think it's fair that you booked the tickets and did everything and they cancel it on such short notice and you lose out.

**fingers crossed** for you.

Thank you. well yeah I have the driver's license test in the morning in the same place, but it's still a bummer to have the interview canceled. do you think they will still let us do it if we show up? what happened with other couples that had the same experience?

The main theme seems to be GO to the interview because some that haven't have ended up being denied because the office didn't get the notice that the interview was cancelled or something so definitely go and cross your fingers they'll see you. Explain to them that you booked your tickets X days/weeks ago and they're non-refundable so you didn't want to waste them and you're okay with waiting or coming back later.

Good luck.

quick update: we went to the interview and we passed :)

nobody mentioned that it had ben cancelled, they called us, we went in, had a very pleasant and easy interview, and my green card will be in the mail in a couple of weeks.

I don't even want to know what kind of nightmare we would have ended into hadn't we disregarded the cancellation letter.
