It is amazing to me how much more and how much faster you can really get to know someone when all you can do is talk. My fiance knows me better then any one else has ever known me and we have known each other for just under a year. It is amazing to me how someone can know so much about me and know just how I am and yet still love me so much.

I finally know not to take life together for granted. We all know that when we do get to see our SOs we don't waste one second of our time together. We put the most into our time together as we can. And we know that we will continue to do this even when we are finally together! And just think, instead of spending $$ on movies and evenings out, we even it out by spending it on communication! Not a bad deal considering in today's world there is less and less communication between couples. Cheers to the OP! Good subject!

Basically, I was quite naive before when it came to dealing with the government. Now I am more skeptical about everything in life, especially in dealing with politics.

wow, lucky you (or maybe not).

I've always been skeptical of the gov't! Even more so now that something thye passed truly affects me.

I guess I was pretty darn naive too. I had NO idea this kind of ####### happens. I knew that papers got lost and mistakes were made, but screw-ups of this magnitude, seriously I had no idea. I went through this kind of ####### when I was getting my work visa in Mexico several years ago. I thought this kind of sh!t only happened there, not here!!!

I should have said "federal government" in my original statement. It was quite a screwup on a grand scale, I have to say I have been pretty lucky up until this point in my life. I have dealt with incompetence in government and business before but usually just on a local scale. (MVA, insurance companies, but even they were ultimately accountable) This experience will probably influence who I actually vote for in the near future just for the fact that this is the only recourse that is left at this point. The next question is who?

Ok so my wait for NOA2 is just beginning. I don't know if J and I will be lucky and the process will be quick, or months from now we will still be waiting for NOA2. But I have loved this woman since the day I met her, and with the exception of our recent in person visit, all of that time has been spent half a world away. I know we will be disappointed if the wait gets unreasonable, but that sooner or later she will be here. (L)

Unrelated to our K-1 application, there has been an ongoing turmoil in my personal life, regarding custody of my two children from a previous marriage. Today I learned that our guardian ad litem agrees with me, the kids should be primarily with me. J has been nothing but a source of strength throughout this ordeal, and always told me things would work out. (L)

Our K-1 journey may be long or short, but I know what I have always known about J... She is that very special person that can only come once in a lifetime, and more often than not, we miss out on that person. I won't be missing out, J will be here. The kids will be here. Sooner or later, all will be right in my world, more precisely all will be right in our world... (L)

In my opinion, immigration is just like an airplane we are the passengers. Some people get the buisness class and some get the economy. It doesnt mean that the buisness class passengers would get to their destination before since they paid more. But the difference is that they tried to pay extra to get some comfort during their journey to the fianal destination. In our cases. most of the applicants get approved+visa process in average time. Now it depneds upon us that how much do we comfort ourselves during that journey regarding looking at other people approvals and visas.

There are few tipe how we can comfort ourselves during this travelling:

(1) try to set set some short- term targets. just like atleast few visits to your fiance during that time. it would help booth people to have a hope that we are gonna meet physicaly soon.

(2) join some extra activities like gym, clubs, sports etc. it owuld help you to take off from immig mind boggling.

(3) if you are doing one job then try to get some extra work just to think that you are saving this money for the visits and the expances you would do when finaly getting to usa.

(4) keep talking on to eachother and give a break to immigration topic. talk anything but not about immigration for atleast one or two days a week.

i guess may be most of the people know this thing but again for revision.

I lived in Venezuela for almost 20 years. I am very used to government officials not being accountable for what they do, in fact one of the reasons i decided to move to the states (I am venezuelan and American) was because I got fed up with it.

This whole K-1 visa has opened my eyes, at least when it comes to immigration this government is a bad as any third world country in being prepotent and unaccountable for. How is it possible that in the USA I cannot get ANY information on what is going on with my application? in fact the only option we have is to ask our congressman to ask them so that USCIS can give him the same ####### it give us!!! No one is accountable!!!

I am amazed on the fact that there is absolutely nothing we can do!!! we have been royally screwed in the name of "homeland security"...

At least in Venezuela you can bribe someone to get your stuff done, here you are screwed period...I am kind of dissapointed in the system as a whole, the whole "guilty until proven innocent" ####### gets my blood boiling...

I've learned I'm not psychic.

Last night I had a dream that Gary and Luz got their NOA2. (yes, I am clearly spending too much time on VJ? ) I expected to log in this morning and see the news, but I guess my dreams have no bearing on reality!

You have officially proven that you are spending way to much time on VJ if you are dreaming about members. :P

That's funny you say that. Last night I had a dream that Susie and I got our NOA2.

Aj1: I agree with you completely. You definitely learn to love and trust in a manner that few people seldom experience.

Vartan: I can relate completely, $4.00 a minute to Taichung, yikes that was a bad bill.

If anything, those of us who make it through this should be the epitome of true love. Cuz by the time we're back together with our loved ones, we have already learned what it took to keep our relationships alive. Honesty, truthfullness faithfulness, loyalty and above all else, unconditional love. My parents went through our process the old, long way before I was born. Now it's my turn. If my parent's have made it this far, then dag nabit so will we!

Treed, when i first started calling my lovey dovey I was rackin up $5! Before i knew it, i was tagged with a $1000+ bill!!! how's that for ongoing relationship evidence hahaha!

This debacle is not in the name of Homeland Security. IMBRA is entirely about another issue. Marriage Brokers, companies arranging marriages for a fee.

If this were a DHS initiative, you would have seen these delays 5 years ago.

This is a simple case of incompetence at the processing centers. New law, no plan for implementation.

The law was enacted on March 6 2006, USCIS response: :o

Thus, the delays and so forth. It sucks for sure, but not a DHS issue.
