Hello to Everyone,

Hope your day is going faster as far as USCIS and NVC, Good luck to ALL,

My question is the following :

My case is @ NVC and is on the process, just received emails regarding payments of $ 88.00 and 404.00.

My lawyer told me that i need a co sponsor ?

I am not working right now and have not for the last 7 months i went to Algeria and stayed after getting married with my wife for 5 months and now without a job since i came back, but i am about to start working soon,

Inchallah!

My question is I always worked, this the first time without a job ! what a bummer, it happened just when you need to be working !

Anyway my last W2 for 2007/2008/2009 have made over $ 50.000 / year, do you think that would be enough evidence?

With a letter of work when i get this new job?

I would rather not ask a co sponsor , can i go without it ?

Again thanks for your feedback!

God bless you ALL.

You need current income, not previous income. You have no current income so yes you need a co-sponsor.

Actually she needs a joint sponsor but alternatively, she could wait until she starts the new job, then state and document that income.

You may also use your assets when filing I864 - such as value of bank account, net value of investments, property, car. These must add up to 3x the 125% poverty line, so around $65,000 if you have zero income for the current year. EDIT: add "net" above

Oh, lord, I hope not. If it is a family of just 2 (husband and wife), shouldn't that be $54,636 (3x$18,212)? That's the one I've been going for...just in case they don't like my short term, self-employed income this year. Where did you get $65,000 net, if you don't mind me asking?

hello there!!!, I also got unemployed this year. Lucky dog i found another job on September, and last week i got my employer's letter and also i have a co-sponsor. 125% Poverty line for 2 people is $ 18,212.00 add 4,000 more for an extra person. But you need to be working before you start any process also you need your 2009 tax return, unless you have on savings or assets the amount requested for uscis.

Can you explain what you mean when you say you need to be working before you start any process? CUrrently I am on unemployment as I got laid off my job I was at for 10 years. I am currently looking for a new job of course but I am counting on my unemployment and our assets (house, car) to sponsor my husband who is now in Britian awaiting his spouse visa. Thanks for any information
