Hello! I purchase calling cards online to call Peru. I have receipts with all of the cards I purchased with my name attached. It also shows the calling card number. I also have my cell phone records with proof showing I called these numbers. Should I bother printing this out as proof of ongoing relationship for the interview? I can't prove the numbers I call in Peru after I enter the calling card access number.

My phone bill does not show incoming call details at all, so I can't prove all the calls received from Peru. My phone bill also does not have ANY text message detail so I cannot prove the millions of texts back and forth daily. My fiance's phone company in Peru has NO records.

Other than these call records I have many skype and messenger records, and a couple snail mail records also. I have been to Peru quite a few times (going again in two weeks) and we have many photos.

Thoughts?

Thanks as always :)

Check to see if your calling card has an online site with records of wherew you call. Ours does. We use the "Continental" card from "PennyBoss, com" We have used it from when we were engaged and still use it to call Alla's mom and our son in school there. Works great, cheap AND gives detailed call records.

Hi!

I have a similar ongoing situation/problem. I do try to use calling cards when I call my fiance and talk for longer (much cheaper that way). I also call him regularly directly using my cell phone for shorter calls because it is convenient (though very expensive) and because I am keeping my monthly statements which clearly list the date, phone number called, and the minutes that the call lasted.

The good thing about your case (and mine, too) that you can provide proof of other forms of communication. My guess is that showing a variety of ways in which you communicate (snail mail, e-mail, MSN Messenger, Skype, calling cards, etc.) makes the one main point we are trying to establish: you communicate regularly and that helps prove that you have an ongoing relationship.

Best wishes!

August 23, 2010 - I-129 F package sent via USPS priority mail with delivery confirmation.

August 30, 2010 - Per Department of Homeland Security (DHS) e-mail, petition received and routed to California Service Center for processing. Check cashed. I-797C Notice of Action by mail (NOA 1) - Received date 08/25/2010. Notice date 08/27/2010.

After 150 days of imposed anxious patience...

January 24, 2011 - Per USCIS website, petition approved and notice mailed.

January 31, 2011 - Approval receipt notice (NOA 2) received by mail. Called NVC, given Santo Domingo case number, and informed that petition was sent same day to consulate.

Called Visa Specialist at the Department of State every day for a case update. Informed of interview date on February, 16 2011. Informed that packet was mailed to fiance on February, 15 2011.

February 21, 2011 - Fiance has not yet received packet. Called 1-877-804-5402 (Visa Information Center of the United States Embassy) to request a duplicate packet in person pick-up at the US consulate in Santo Domingo. Packet can be picked-up by fiance on 02/28.

March 1, 2011 - Medical exam completed at Consultorios de Visa in Santo Domingo.

March 9, 2011 at 6 AM - Interview, approved!

March 18, 2011 - POE together. JFK and O'Hare airports. Legal wedding: May 16, 2011.

Next time try finding a company that gives you records of your calls. I just found out that mine does and printed them immediately :) It might be worth the extra effort.

Si, man. If your current calling-card can't prove whom you called, it's worthless as any kind of proof. Invest the extra effort to find a card that does. Or, see if your landline phone provider has international plans. Had my then-fiancee lived in Peru and not in Ecuador, I could've paid just 15 cents per minute along with a reasonable monthly fee, si man.

Mine didn't offer call logs online but I called the customer service number on the back and told them what I needed and they said they could provide a list of numbers called with that card for a fee it was 15.00 for that service. I didn't include it I just made coppies of the cards and made a statement saying what and who I used them for.

You paid the $15 but didn't include the list? Or, you made copies of the card with no PROOF of who was called? Good grief, sigh man...

The exact service I use in Canadian specific, but it is a variation on their IDCaller card. I am not sure if these are available internationally, but they might have options that are. The version I have is not a card at all, but an online account that I recharge.

truroots.ca is another site that works similarly, but I am NOT sure if they offer records. You would have to look into that.

hi all...

you guys check out the rebtel website.. www.rebtel.com. me and my husband has been a loyal and happy customer since '08. the best part of it is that you can keep track of all the calls that you guys had... except for the fact that it was cheaper, everything was so transparent. all the detailed cost and the duration of the conversation.. it was very helpful too between me and my then fiance. i could also suggest you guys to safe keep all the travel receipts that you guys have had in the past. pictures taken together from different places at a different time is what i can say, one of the TOP proofs you could ever give. i remember bringing our first ever movie tickets and showing it to the consul. (its soo funny cuz its all blury and almost unreadable) stuff like mc donald's receipts when we were on vacation in the philippines and etc. small stuff like this can play a substantial amount of evidence of your legitimate relationship.

and oh,

i remember bringing more than 450 pages of skype chat logs. (FONT SIZE: 8 with a margin of 0.25 x 0.25 on all sides) i tried to show it to him, guess what the consul did? he just smiled at me and said, "nah, its all good!". I WAS SOOO HAPPY, however, on the other hand, i saw myself there, imagining myself printing all those papers for more than 3 hours plus the drive back and forth to the mall just to get them new ink cartridges.. haha! i guess it was all worth it after all! :D
