My Green Card arrived on Saturday, and I don't have to do any jobhunting because the place where I have been doing voluntary work have took me on full-time.

I got mine... They are wanting my husband to do another medical exam.. What are the guidelines there? I thought as long as you filed before the 1 year then you wouldnt have to do it.. Can anyone clarify it for me? Im not sure if we sent a copy of his immunizations from Morocco or not.. I dont know if that would really make a difference since they have the records.. Please if anyone knows let me know so I can figure out what to do...

Well thats good that you got your RFE. I bet you the RFE with me will be about the same thing. The thing i wonder about is that back in Germany when i got my package from the consulate containing the visa in the passport, the brown envelope for the POE, the CD, the copy of the DS-3025, i also had a small white envelope in it which says "Do not open this envelope - please provide it to USCIS when the medical examination is requested in conjunction with your adjustment of status. (This envelope contains a copy)". Back when we filed for AOS we werent sure if we were supposed to submit it then and now im wondering if its that what they want.

Did you also get that envelope or anybody else on here? Back at the consulate when i had my interview they never told me of such an envelope, so it was kinda confusing.

But you are right we shouldnt be doing another medical, since well we are in that 1 year time frame of when we had it done.

Well we were late in doing our papers.. My husband had his medical in December of 2009 but I was under the impression that as long as we filed before December 2010 we would be fine.. I dont now though possibly I dont know what I am talking about haha.. I just hope its not too expensive if we will have to do another medical!! This immigration stuff is too expensive as it is!

If you filed within a year of having the medical then no you shouldn't have to do another medical with a civil surgeon. If you didn't send a copy of your vaccination record D-2035, this could well be what the RFE is for, as you are required to send a copy. Suggesting USCIS should just know as they have a record of it already is giving them far too much credit

Guidelines for K1s applying for AOS are as follows: you do not have to have a second medical OR have your vaccination record on your DS-2035 transcribed onto an I-693, provided the vaccination record is complete.

If you did not send it, or if the DS-2035 was incomplete, you will probably have to see a civil surgeon. If you did, I would suggest making an Infopass appointment at your local field office to find out exactly what is lacking. It could be that your medical folder that you handed over at POE has not joined up with your AOS file - I've seen a lot of posts about this recently, depressingly - but someone who applied for their K1 the same month I did had this happen and USCIS were eventually able to locate the file. Infopass is your best bet.

You should have either sent a copy of the DS-3025 if the vaccination history was marked as complete OR an I-693 with just the vaccination history transcribed and showing as complete. I sent both, mainly because there were a lot of people historically who were getting RFEs for I-693 when they only sent DS-3025s and also because my K-2 daughter needed to have her 3rd set of Hep B, so figured I might as well cough up the $75 for me too, to avoid any questions. I also included the receipt for our medical, showing that we undertook it and the date in case they 'couldn't find it'.

What exactly does the RFE say and what did you send in relation to the medical part of qualifying for AOS?

The RFE says this:

A review of the record indicates tha the applicant, Adnane entered the US with a valid K-1 visa.

The record shows that over 12 months has elapsed since the applicant was medically examined in conjunction with his K-1 entry.

My husband had his medical done on December 8, 2009 right before his interview.. We filed our AOS papers on November 22nd..
