@piglett - This is what I sent in as evidence: Copies of our passport stamps, and copies of the iteneraries/boarding passes. Marriage certificate, 21 photos of wedding and other trips, and 3 affidavits; one from my father and two from friends of ours down here. That should get us through to the consulate; by then he should have made it down here on a visit and I can then add him to auto insurance and bank account, plus copies of the accumulated passport stamps/boarding passes.

@ piglett & @giamimigio - You /may/ get an RFE for more evidence, but it really all depends on the officer looking over your petition. From what I understand, they're looking for proof you are trying to build a life together as much as you are able with your SO, as well as being in fairly constant contact (which is where the phone records and chat logs can help). Children together can also help build your case, but I wouldn't just have submitted that alone (in my opinion).

@Slaghead - Hello and welcome! If you opted in to electronic notifications, you should be getting yours soon if you sent by Priority Mail. If not.. could be up to next week. Check your bank to see if the check has been cashed, that's usually a good indication a text/email could be coming your way soon. I would go ahead and start collecting your relationship evidence so if you get an RFE it can go out in the mail super-quick and not delay your petition too much! Oh, and be prepared to have LOTS of patience! The government works slowly..

@bigbigblake - Hi there! Glad to see you, and good luck!

ETA: Congrats on the NOA1, giamimigio! One tiny step towards approval!

Great to see all you guys here!

To follow on the introductions. Im the UKC and he is the USC. Met nearly three years ago at a party when I was in the states on a J1 visa for a year. Did the back and forth business for a while (mostly me going there as he's not a huge fan of England!) and when I went the last time he suprised me by proposing, and we got married! Was eligible for Adjustment of Status but was worried about the ramifications of this with the recent changes in people adjusting from the visa waiver programme (even though i wasnt out of status) so decided to go the I-130 route to be safer, and mean I can work as soon as I get back!

Just got back to England today (at 6.40am this morning - bleugh) amd just counting down the days until I can get back to gorgeous Colorado and my lovely hubby!

Seeing as we're all in the same boat, im thinking of visiting in about 3 months but a little worried about the POE. I am thinking of going via Dublin first to get cleared - anyone had any perosnal experiences?

thanks guys and god bless us on this hopefully speedy journey!

Once my wife arrives we intend to have a larger more powerful boat built for him so he can better provide for his family.

I don't want to risk hurting his pride by just sending money every month. Much better to give him the tools to make more money himself

piglett

yes i agree. it's like that saying. "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime." :)

oh oh oh story time I like this game :P Mine goes a lil like this. I am 26 she is 23 we got married on june 1st 2009. First contact was online "social networking site" I was a Marine stationed in Okinawa. We talked online for about 6 months then once i was discharged due to medical and was "allowed" to go see her i stayed with her and her family for a month. In that month I fell in love with her, her family, and filipino hospitality. We got married toward the end of my first stay. I came back tot eh us worked for about 6 months then decided i would go there to make it work use teh gibill go to school and live very well. I went tehere got my residency and accepted to ateneo. Thier curriculm was a little to be desired so I came back here got 2 jobs going to school and now we are have the I-130 in and after a year and half hoping we get her here lol. I would love for her to get here by april or may, but even if it does take the extra month it might be to our advantage cause june 1st is our two year anniversary which would be an automatic removal of conditions ate poe if i have read right :)

i'm hoping that my husband gets here by may too. our bdays are 10 days apart and i want to take him to Las Vegas. it'll be a blast. lets just hope all goes well for us and our plans :) hehe.. it's nice to see we're in the same age range. we're 24 . where is your wife from in the philippines? how did u like living there?

I received that exact same (minus the receipt number) email today. I was somewhat excited to see that my package was being sent to Vermont vice Cali. Someone whom I work with who also lives here in Guam received their notice a few days ago and their package is going to CSC. The only differences that I'm aware of is that he has a Guam mailing address and I have an APO mailing address. Any thoughts on this? Anyone?

Thanks,

George

But it really wasn't a bad experience would not have left if religion wasn't forced into the curriculm at the college level.

I used a cashier's check so I can't answer your specific question.

I sent mine on 11/15 via priority mail. Piglett sent his on 11/17 via Fed-Ex (presuming overnight). It looks like you sent yours on the 11/16, so I would guess that you will be receiving a notification soon. I assume that you sent the 1145 form for that. It seems like they send out the notifications in batches based on how many people got their notifications on the same day here but it may just be coincidence?

And thank you. :)

Yeah I sent mine out on the 16th via express mail (18 freaking dollars!) and i did send the 1145. Hubby has phone in USA that they'll send the notification to so just waiting with bated breath for the notice.

Seems futile to be so excited about it when theres a lot more to wait for, but I cant wait to know they are looking into it!

I guess we'll all be talking about getting NVC stuff prepared next! Hoping to go by the LingChe guide, but finding it all very confusing so far!

i'm glad u liked it. u said u attended ateneo? in manila? after high school i went to study in the philippines. i went to La Salle. my aunt was the town counsilor of our town so all eyes were on me while they try to kiss a$$ to her. someone ratted me out saying i wasn't going to school. i was, just not my ENGLISH class. hehe. my mom got really mad so i had to fly back to the states after HALF of the semester haha. since i grew up here and my english was "perfect" to them, my english teacher was ok with me not attending as long as i turn all my stuff in and i dont miss test days. but ya those were the days haha.. :ot2: sorry hehe

Luckily we all have 5 months or so to make sense of it! I've already told the husband he will have his documents scanned in and ready when I get up there for Christmas, and he's fairly close to it. The only thing I've told him to wait on is the police certificate so it will be within the year Canada wants for validity. I'm also working on getting mine together, needless to say. :P
