Uh im getting impatient. How long should the NOA1 take. Im signed up for email/text notification. Sent on the 16th Nov and check cashed on the 23rd. Its now been nearly two weeks and nothing!

i haven't gotten my NOA1 hard copy as well. maybe today....................

NOA1 will come to you this week it's in the mail...don't count on the email/text notification. I never got one from them. Try to read other posts on here if you have time. It will give an idea of how long this process is. Good luck and patience will have to become your number one exercise through this long process.

We filed on October 26th and our file hasn't been touched since then. My husband has recieved the reciept and case number but I have recieved nothing in the UK? Anyone else have this problem? I really want to book my medical ASAP!

YES YES ILL LOOK INTO THAT TOO. so would that count as another dependent when tax season comes or is it just to have your spouse added to our bank accnts?

No the w-7 is what gets the USC to be able to file married on tax return. This is also a good form for the banks as it gives them a temporary tax id number till spouse gets a ssn. It is all i needed to get mine added to my bank account. But normally they only accept them when you file your taxes from what i was told and you need certified copy of birth, marriage, and passport. I had a big problem cause i was told twice they would not accept certified copy of passport from phil and then demanded original i gave it to them they lost it. Then i was told by the case worker that the orginal was not required. So now she had to file for lost passport. What a bummer, but i made an extra 3g's on my tax return so the 50 dollars for the passport was alright i guess lol. Just sucks our government sends things regular post to philippines. Seems they would know you have to use fedex or carrier to deliver official documents there. Just send all orginal NSO documents and passport copy by dfa official. If your spouse is from philippines anyways.

Phew something better come this week! So, the USC will be getting the NOA1 right? I wont get anything as the UKC (kinda makes it worse!)

eek just spoke to hubby and he got a reciept in the post today!(on very snazzy paper - gues thats where our filing fee goes )

So it has the WAC number on it. Is this the NOA1 or just a reciept and we should be waiting for something else in the post?

Im so excited! Just logged into USCIS and it makes it all very real!

Congrats! That is the NOA1. I hope I get mine in the mail today too. Sucks that you didn't get the email/text notification but the actual document is better anyway. They do qualify all of the email/text stuff as being a pilot program so there are likely some 'bugs' in their system to work out in order to make it more reliable.

@TheHeub's: It will take a while before you book your medical - it's approximately 5 months to get through the USCIS stage, plus likely another 5 months to get to the interview. You don't want to book too soon, as the medical is only good for a year, and those approximate times above do NOT include RFE (request for evidence) delays. I'm not sure what notifications you as the foreign spouse get, someone else may be able to help you there.

keeping an eye out on the July filers who got transferred from Ca-Tx. lots of "touching" going with their paperwork.

i've gotten 3 in the last week alone. it could mean they're getting really busy trying to clear the log jam or nothing....

i prefer hauling a$$ to get everyone processed under 5 months
