You seriously were scared because a man with a "thing on his head" was on the airplane?????

I'm probably going to get a lot of ####### for this, but I'm just being honest here. I was just on a plane last night, on the way from Charlotte to Baltimore. And there was a guy with a thing on his head. Some family was sitting there at the gate and this kid looks at his dad and says "he looks like a..." (this is where the dad puts his hand over the kid's mouth). Well, in light of the recent almost terrorist attacks on planes, I'm not going to lie-I was thinking the same thing as that kid. That whole flight I was scared half to death, and I can tell you right now if I happened to have been seated next to him and he started going on in another language, I would have probably wet my pants. I mean, it's just common sense to me that in light of what's recently happened, one shouldn't be doing things on an airplane to call attention to oneself-probably not the best idea in the world. Of course I tend to err on the side of caution. If it was me, I would be doing whatever I could NOT to make other people uncomfortable, even if that meant I had to change my personal behaviors for just that little while. Sorry, but people are scared-I don't know anyone who wants to die, and the killers look just like normal people.

Hmm.. don't orthodox jews wear a "thing" on their head too ?

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

If it was me, I would be doing whatever I could NOT to make other people uncomfortable, even if that meant I had to change my personal behaviors for just that little while.

If I were a person who wore a "thing on my head" or something, I would probably want to be open about it, to show the world that good people wore them. In all likelihood I bet the guy was a Sikh.

I don't think anyone should do something outside their religion/culture just to help people with too much irrational prejudice feel better.

This reminds me of December 2001 when my mother met me in Paris. She wouldn't get into a subway car because a Muslim man wearing a turban got in. Since then, she's kind of snapped out of it, but I understand how one might feel irrational fears of people who fit the imagined terrorist profile.

Ric Flair's gotta be Jewish to know how to pluralize kippa. Just sayin...
