I have a question when people meantion from email "we ordered production of your new card" is this a document you take to the Social Security office or is it the Social Security Card itself? Still Checking does anyone know of anyone going through Kansas City, MO for I-485. I also looked at the processing time in Kansas City just a month and a half ago they said average times was 4 months now instead of saying 4 months it has a date of 15 May 2010 so what does this mean?

Thanks for any answers.

It's a notification of either EAD or the green card being printed for you by USCIS. Nothing to do with Social Security. Totally different agencies. If you want a social security card you have to apply for one at an SSA office.

Regarding the processing time for Kansas City, MO, the text on that page explains what you're seeing:

"If the office is processing a particular type of application in less time than our processing goal, you will see the processing times expressed in months (for example, if the office is processing naturalization applications in less than our 5 month goal, the processing time will state “Five Months”). However, if that office is taking longer than our processing goal to handle the form type in question, you will see the filing date (e.g., “April 10, 2003”) of the last case we processed on the date the website chart was last updated. The charts are updated on or about the 15th day of each month."

I'm the USC petitioner.

EAD approved yesterday!!! Yes!!!! Well it was kinda long road 1 month and 2 weeks for EAD, but i didn't expect to be fast, because of my overstay of 3 years :) Many people had tough times - paycheck cuts, hour cuts, rent, credits, bills... But i believe in good things and positive things. So! Heads up to everybody and everything will be just fine :)

A month and a half is quite good for getting the EAD. Well within USCIS guide time of 90 days. So congrats. Your overstay wouldn't have had any impact on its issuance.

Good luck on the job market!

Well, this is weird. On December 3, after biometrics, I got and email and a txt message saying that EAD card production was ordered, and the status was "Card/Document Production". Now, on December 15, I got a new email and txt saying that they mailed me a notice they had approved the I765 APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION, and my status step backwards to "Post Decision Activity". This was disappointing, I think it was some kind of mistake on December 3... Also, no sign of an interview date yet.... I need that interview as soon as possible... I didnt apply for AP.

I read in other threads that it is normal for the status to go back to post decision activity. So, you should not have anything to be worried about. I think it means they have actually mailed it or something.

Ohh, thanks Leenie. This gives me hope again. From past months bloggers i would say that an average waiting time after filing AOS is about 100 days. Now it seems it's taking longer for October filers. Ive calculated 120 days. What you all guys think.

Have fun waiting

 Dude! The guy made a funny post and I have the right to laugh!! By responding to his and mine in the manner in which you did you come across mean-spirited and petty, to put it mildly. But YES I'll try to have fun LOL like almost everybody else on here who respects the process's timeline, and waits patiently for their turn to roll around. My conscience and moral values would not allow me to call up anyone to speed up my process for no reason except say, to jump the queue. But hey, who cares about respect for procedures!? I say, call 'em for ya interview!

Two sets of text messages today. EAD card changed to post-decision activity...thinking it means card prodeced and put in the mail today.

Exactly one hour later AP was approved and a letter is being sent to you today.

With the support of visajourney and the information us fellow October filers share and previous filers you can very much antcipate the news is close. Based on the other filers I think we are exactly on time.

Just need to receive the EAD card and convert the Social Security card to OK to work

And then go to the interview appointment on 1/10/2011 in Seattle
