Slowed down due to a back log of H1b's. H1b's have a service window of >2 months. They got behind. Also, h1b's are eligible for 'premium' processing. I work for a company with a large number of H1b's. I asked our HR immigration person and our immigration lawyer. They told me that USCIS is dedicated almost all of its resources to clearing the H1b backlog. Its the Economy stupid.....makes the employment numbers look better.

Even our love is being affected by the economy.... Good news, they are starting to clear the backlog of H1b's and shifting people back to other types of petitions.

Thanks! This gives me hope. They should provide double staff to process the rest of us, too, since we had to wait so long.

Thanks for this! It's nice to hear a bit of inside info as to the reason for the slow down. It helps to feel less in the dark. Will you let us know if you hear anything else?

Yes, it is good to know what the reason was, and its not that they just forgot about us!! And I hope they get back to K1's like... um yesterday lol...

I too had a long span of time between my last touch (June 16th) and my NOA2 (Sept 14th). Finally got my NOA2 in mail yesterday (Sept 20). I can relate to many of you in regards to the long waiting period. I have a lot of emotion involved in this process, which probably added to my impatience with USCIS. Now that I have my NOA2 in hand I feel so much more relaxed. Your day is coming soon for many of you, maybe this week. - Dave

Oh my god Dave! Thanks so much for posting this and congrats! I think you're the first person I've seen who filed at the CSC in June that has been approved. This gives me hope.

EDIT: Oh wait, you filed in May. (sigh)

So at this point I think it's become less about will power and more about protecting my sanity. I KNOW every time I check it, it's still going to say last updated: 08/13/2010 and if I have to see that one more time I might actually cry. I don't really want to cry, therefore, I stopped checking. Too depressing.

I hear ya. I'm beginning to think this online status stuff is actually a curse in disguise! Last year I had to wait a few months for my Irish visa to get approved without any websites or timelines to check...and that wait was nothing like this torture! :crying:
