So at this point I think it's become less about will power and more about protecting my sanity. I KNOW every time I check it, it's still going to say last updated: 08/13/2010 and if I have to see that one more time I might actually cry. I don't really want to cry, therefore, I stopped checking. Too depressing.

 Seems like we're a day apart on that, too. I was last touched 08/12/2010 and I refuse to check it anymore.

I hear ya. I'm beginning to think this online status stuff is actually a curse in disguise! Last year I had to wait a few months for my Irish visa to get approved without any websites or timelines to check...and that wait was nothing like this torture! :crying:

Normally I would say the K-1 wait would be way harder anyway because of the separation. However, you, if I remember correctly, are one of the lucky ones that gets to spend the time waiting together! (I'm super jealous!) So I think you're probably right, USCIS only introduced online case status checks to torture us. And clearly, its working.

Yeah which is why I always feel so bad for complaining :(

But believe me, there are plenty of things here that making this wait awful.

Perhaps USCIS does this for a laugh. Ah you know what would be even more torturous? If they had little cameras directed towards our petitions that ran constant live feeds. Haha can you imagine? I'd be sitting there watching it and the filing drawer would open only for someone else's petition to come out.

Oh god now I'm giving them ideas!

Hey I'm technically invading too. Even though I filed June 30th, my NoA1 was July 7th. I think I'm just trying to lump myself in here so I feel like I have some hope in hell to be approved in the next month.

Amy, Coconuts, Gingerpants....I wish we could all meet up and have drinks somehow! My regular friends (you know, the ones that didn't have to import their fiances) are so tired of me complaining. They're sympathetic of course, but no one really gets it unless they're in the situation. It's bad enough we're separated from our fiances by an ocean, we can't even get through this with other VJ members in person! Stupid giant country.

Anyway, it's just my luck the month I decide to file just so happens to be the freak month CSC decides to stop approving things. If we had filed in May we would have had interview dates set by now. I think I am ok knowing I'll see him next week....then after that I know I'll see him in Dec. It's Jan that terrifies me. If we don't have an interview date set by then I don't know how I'll cope not knowing when we'll be together next. I guess all we can do is take it one month at a time.

P.S. Even though I'm thrilled for the people posting "We have been approved!!!!" topics...I can't help but be jealous with rage. I can't wait for the day we can post that.

I can agree with you on so many levels. I don't even talk about the difficulties of being apart because no one around me really understands. Also, I am happy for others that are approved but I really don't pay them any mind. I am only interested when it's someone from the CSC in the months of June and July :)

Unitl that group starts getting approved, I am really not interested. I know it sounds bad but it's true. I have even stopped congratulating people. Not that I am not happy for them, it's just a reminder of how we are still sitting here in a rut. I will be doing the happy dance for EVERYONE when our group starts moving, though LOL.

They should make a virtual pub version of VJ; Pints for everyone! :P That would be great fun!

I just keep thinking how I should have gathered together our petition faster because if I had we might have an approval by now! Or better yet they might have not transferred us to the new slows-ville headquarters (CSC), grr curse you USCIS and your transfers!

Woulda, coulda, shoulda.. I totally feel ya, I was actually 100% ready to file in June. (which is maybe why I've invaded this thread? ) but because I was moving at the beginning of August, and my Fiance was moving in July we were too scared to send in our petition and then have to change both of our addresses, lest anything go wrong. So we waited. Now I'm not sure that was the best decision.. Hindsight, ya know?

Oh well. Just keep swimming..

Oh, and if anyone is ever in Boston and wants to commiserate together, I'll take you out for a real live, non-virtual pint! :star:

I think this is exactly the reason I come here so much! It's comforting to go through it with other people who understand it and reassuring to see other people get accepted, and move, and live happily ever after! It reminds me that there is a light at the end of this tunnel. I am quite lucky in the fact that my fiance is not an ocean away. I have such respect for you guys who are dealing with a much, much larger distance than I am. I'm not sure how you do it.

Anyway, thank goodness for VJ, where we all don't seem quite so nuts.. We are not alone!

Yep, same here. If anyone's ever in Ireland or Orlando (whenever it is that we finally get there!) we'll go for drinks.

I think I'm the only person here who isn't going crazy waiting for their NOA2, but probably only because I see my fiance all the time. In fact, I'm sitting in his living room right now. So you all have my sympathy. My unsolicited advice is to take up a new hobby or something that excites you (almost) as much as immigrating does, so you can be focused on that. Although I do see A every other week, I took up a new hobby and have been trying to work out more so I can be in good shape when I do move. Just a thought...feel free to tell me to piss off if I deserve it

Easy to say take up a hobby because you are with your SO. I am sure the rest of us would feel the same way too if we were in the same position :)
