So...i had a "list" of things I wanted in a husband...like 100+ things (yes I had no life...) Stewart only fits about ten of them :)

How close is your SO to YOUR previuos "Requirements?"

ex...

I wanted a big guy...stew only weighs 160 (6'4")

i wanted a frat guy (don't ask)...stew is SOOO Far from that.

I love tall, dark and handsome...stew is tall and handsome...but pale as a piece of paper.

Finally finished with immigration in 2012!

My list wasn't quite so long as 100.... I had only about 10 real specific requirements. My husband has met 9 out of 10. I remember in my 20's my list of requirements was longer, in my 30's it got shorter. I like to think that I'm not settling for less, but have more realistic expectations. No one person is perfect. Perfection is what you make of it.

I never had specific REQUIREMENTS or anything, but I'd say my SO is VERY far from what I imagined!

I always dated tall, lanky guys; my fiance is barely taller than me and not very muscular.

I always liked artistic and creative men; my fiance is a software engineer.

BUT I always wanted to be with someone smart, and HILARIOUS, and opinionated. I definitely got that! And he can TALK. And no matter what, he is there for me, stands up for me, and is on my side. So who cares if he isn't the other things, when I'm so in love? He'll go do artistic things with me anyway, and I sure do think he's attractive. :)

Aw shucks.

the ONLY thing that doesn't fit my girly dreams is that he's american and it never crossed my mind I wouldn't marry someone from here. :P

Actually I always had general expectations instead of wanting him to have a certain profesion etc... I wanted him to be romantic, funny, gentle, strong (physically and mentally), cute, to like my family, to like the same things I like or give it a try at least, to always want to get better and improve, to have the same taste in music, to want to commit for life etc.... he has all that! :luv:

I never made a list. As someone else mentioned, all my boyfriends were all so different. Different quailities I liked in each one...obviously things I didn't like or I'd still be with them.

With Chris, I never imagined I would marry a 6ft 6in red headed guy, who plays the drums. I figured I would be with a clean cut business man. But I fell hard for this guy! 2 years later we are planning to marry!

I had a realistic list and a fantasy list. The realistic list contained personality traits, and the fantasy list contained physical traits. The fantasy list was never really considered - it was just a fantasy, after all.

Sian met every one of the preferences on the realistic list.

On the fantasy list, she met most of them. Good thing I had already fallen in love with her before I ever saw a picture of her, or she might have thought I was merely "shopping" for the perfect woman. LOL

Fantasy List:

hair - red (yes)

eyes - green (no, blue)

height - 5' to 5'10" (easy one. lol 5'5")

weight - not really a concern - more than 100, less than 250. LOL (Yes)

bust - *shrugs* always preferred B or C cup. Not really an issue. (36DD)

Waist - Just preferred that she have one (Aye, she does)

Hips - Never really considered. Hips are good though.

Complexion - Pale (Is translucent considered pale? LOL)

The only really important one on this list is "eyes". And not the colour. Eyes tell everything, in my opinion. Sian's eyes more than passed the "test".

Sian is absolutely perfect. For me, at least.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

My gf's being different is what caused me to have a list (many of 'I dont want someone that......) It was quite long and as one buddy said 'good luck in finding all that'.....

Hmmm I showed him, she is everything plus more. WOW, God makes that one special person for everyone. There was no 'settle' but instead is a "WOW" when I think of how lucky I got.
