I've read through the guides and I'm not 100% clear on exactly how many passport photos are needed for AOS.

I-485 instructions want 2 passport photos of my wife.

I-765 EAD instructions want 2 passport photos.

I-131 instructions want 2 passport photos.

Will they actually pool their resources and use the 2 that we just had taken yesterday at Wal-Mart or will we have to go back and pay for four more photos?

The duplication of evidence in this whole process absolutely astounds me.

Yeah, I think they need all six. What astounds me is that you have to go in and get another photo taken at their biometrics appointment when you already submitted so many!(although this may be different adjusting from K-1; our path was a bit different than yours) We bought a $10 computer program for passport photos and took our own photos as to cut down on the cost. Good luck!

Edit: Also, if you don't want the Advance Parole document (ie are not planning to travel for a while), than you can omit that form and those photos.

you need all the photos, you cant just send 2 or you will get a RFE. The forms get split up and go to different places to be approved. the reason for all the photos is to make sure someone isnt trying to steal your application and pose as you. Thats also the big reason for the biometrics, to maintain that you are still you and its not someone that stole your papers and is posing as you.

6 in total.

go to ePassportPhoto.com and you can generate the correct size passport pics there for free. They create a file for you that you can either send to walmart online to get printed, or download it to your computer, or USB and print it yourself. This is what I did and I've had no issues.

Well that's super efficient.

How about photocopies of the I-94 and passport? Copies for each file?

Thanks for all the answers. Just waiting on the 2009 tax transcripts and we're all set!

I've included everything in 3's for each package when I sent it. USCIS can throw it out if they want to, but I'd rather have them shred extra copies than send an RFE.

Слава Україні!

It looks like I have more photcopying to do!

just to throw a spanner in the works I only sent in 2 photos in total for the EAD and AOS... however I didn't read the guide properly. I had no issues and approved for both. however i wouldn't tempt fate!
