once it leaves the NVC then they send you the letter telling about the case being sent to overseas us consutlate. they give you the case#. but unfortunately you cant track it by using that case#. only one option and that is to contact the local US consulate about the status of the case by telling the case#.

I was wondering the same. The only thing I could find was that the embassy in Colombia has a web site that will show the appointment time, but not much else.

Perhaps for the Netherlands, there is something at:

http://netherlands.usembassy.gov/

I called the NVC to track it's progress there. Once I knew it was on its way to the Embassy, I phoned Frankfurt and someone in their 'visa' section confirmed that they had received the case and had already forwarded packet 3 to David.

Phoning is the only way.

Jen

8-30-05 Met David at a restaurant in Germany

3-28-06 David 'officially' proposed

4-26-06 I-129F mailed

9-25-06 Interview: APPROVED!

10-16-06 Flt to US, POE Detroit

11-5-06 Married

7-2-07 Green card received

9-12-08 Filed for divorce

12-5-08 Court hearing - divorce final

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

Just as a side note, if you use the automated system and it asks you for your case # ,the system will not be able to find your case if you are filing K1. Chose option 2, I believe, and talk with an operater. If they have your case, they will let you know. They will say it is in administrative processing, but don't panic. That is what they call the normal processing there. It can go into 'extra' AP for further security checks as well. I believe 1-2 weeks is normal processing time.

Option #5 to talk to a live operator - I just called :)

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

Yep, been calling the 603-334-0700 for NVC information and getting either busy signals or hearing that they are all busy and to try calling back later. BTW, that number supposedly allows you to speak to someone from 7:30am to 12:30am daily. Don't remember what time zone it was tho.

I would suggest calling the NVC as late as possible. I was able to get through at about 10:00 p.m. eastern standard time. Ask them when they received your NOA2 and when they sent it out to the Embassy. As you can see from my timeline, the turnaround time is pretty quick.

To track the package from NVC to the Embassy in Bogota, you would go to the DHL website and track by reference. The reference is "correspondence." For the range of date sent you would plug in the day the NVC told you they sent it out.

was hoping they had received it and my account was never updated but that is not the case...

Good Luck on your Journeys

I got a letter (no e-mail) that NVC had my paper work. The letter was dated 8/7. I was going to give them 5 or 10 days before I started getting obsessive, like I can be.

I got a call from Bogota today (8/14). My fiancee received packet 3 via courier.

I called the Consulate here in Montreal to see if they had recieved my case and I agree with JenT, that is the best way. You can speak with someone give them your case 3 and they can tell you if they recieved it and if any papers were mailed out. And to anyone going through Montreal the lady I spoke with there was very nice.

Thanks for the information. I did call the embassy today, I talked to them briefly. They had received our case, but I was so nervous that I didn't ask all the questions I wanted. My main concern was to make sure they had received the letter I had sent with my IMBRA RFE to give them my fiance's new address in the Netherlands. He said they did not have the new address and that my fiance should sent a letter wit the new address. I forgot to ask him when the received the package. But I guess that is okay, since they have it. Anyway he sent a letter next day delivery giving them the new address. Hopefully, everything will be okay and we will get package 3 soon.

Is packet 3 what the foreign fiance gets with all their forms? Chris has got that already, but I haven't gotten any confirmation of the case being recieved either by the NVC or the London Embassy. All I've gotten is a letter from USCIS saying that our stuff would be sent to NVC within the next week. That was about a week and a half ago.

Timeliney Goodness

Late October, 2002 - Exchange PMs on a message board after being pointed towards each other by mutual friends.

December 30, 2002 - Meet in Edinburgh. I change plans to spend my second week of holiday with Chris.

After many, many trips back and forth...

September 27, 2005 - Chris comes over for three months to try the living together thing.

December 23, 2005 - We go to the UK to spend Christmas with his family (our first Christmas together)

January 4, 2006 - Chris almost doesn't get back into the country, but they end up letting him stay another three months.

February 14, 2006 - Attempted proposal. Aborted due to cold food and bad atmosphere.

February 17, 2006 - Successful proposal. Huzzah!

March 20, 2006 - Finally get I-129F Packet together and sent off to Texas Service Center.

March 28, 2006 - NOA1

April 1, 2006 - Touch

April 4, 2006 - NOA1 letter recieved.

June 23, 2006 - IMBRA RFE Notice Date

June 30, 2006 - IMBRA RFE Recieved in Mail, filled out and sent back Express Mail about an hour later.

July 03, 2006 - Touch (RFE recieved by CSC)

July 06, 2006 - Touch

July 07, 2006 - Touch

July 08, 2006 - Touch

July 25, 2006 - APPROVED!!
