There is a fundamental difference between what Amby and Maven describe and what you describe - ie they may not care about the person outside of sex, but they do care about the encounter and whether it is mutually beneficial. You keep ignoring that aspect - not sure if it's possible to go any further if you can't acknowledge that.

If they post it, I'll acknowledge it, but basically what I got from their posts was the guys they were using for sex weren't getting the job done (or wanted more than sex) so they moved on. That's not caring about mutual benefit, that's being quite selfish, actually.

As to dismissing the cost of prostitution on prostitutes as simply a failure on their part to set the rates appropriately - unbelievable really.

Why? UAW set rates of pay for the auto industry, all the way to the point of industry failure. They did it, why can't prostitutes?

While I realize most aren't in a union and sometimes they're unable to organize, there's a simple - very simple - law out there called supply and demand and they're the ones who control that. Not the pimps, not the johns, not society as a whole. Them.

That is correct. I was in it for the sex, and I broke things off once it was no longer just about that, even if the sex was good. (When you're 20-21 years old, not a total minger and a girl, there's always more sex to be had.) It did have to be mutually satisfying -- I hated it when it was all about me as much as when it was all about them. If a good rapport was built sexually, things might happen a few more times than expected.

I may have been unclear. I always knew with each encounter that there was the possibility that the guy could end up being more than a shag. And indeed, that is what happened with the guy who broke the spell. We met at a party, clicked, made out, had sex and the next thing I knew we had been going out for nine months.

I never said it was. I said, quite clearly that there is a difference between people who enjoy sex, want sex and have sex but while they are having sex care that that sex is mutually satisfactory within the confines of that encounter (whatever the parameters are) and people who have sex and have no interest in the arousal and satisfaction of the other partner. The first I can understand, the second seems completely emotionally stunted.
