5 months today, and no touches since November 29th...yay.

hi there everyone - i've been lurking for the past few months and finally decided to jump in! :) i am the same as everyone else... NOA1 dated july 7th, transferred from CSC to TSC on nov 2nd, and like apeters, i was touched 11/26, 11/28 and 11/29. still initial review, no touches since 11/29. i did this 2 years ago with my canadian husband, and it took 2 months to get from noa1 to noa2, so the fact we are all sitting here waiting for 5 months (or more!) for noa2 is very frustrating. for me, i'm frustrated because this i-130 is for my stepson. my husband's process moved smoothly and was completed in 2009. my stepson is almost 13 and has wanted to move here for the past 2 years, and we finally signed an agreement to make this happen. it should be a no-brainer... he's a child and isn't going to take anyone's job, his dad and i have been married for over 3 years, together for over 5 years, i'm gainfully employed, and they went thru this process with us over the past 2 years already. they haven't asked yet for an add'l information in terms of a custody agreement, but we have that ready to go, and in the meantime, my stepson so wanted to start his second semester here in january - which should have been feasible when we filed for a child in early july - and now we are looking at next summer. it's hard to see august filers getting approved while we sit here. i've been trying to be patient along with everyone else - hence the lurking - but i just can't sit back quietly anymore. ahhhhh! thanks for letting me vent. what kills me is noa2 is just an initial approval... why are we all getting bunged up here?

welcome jellybean!

let us know if you receive anything by mail becasue some were approved without anything updating on USCIS system we're checking like maniacs LOL they just rec'd NOA2 in mail!

if you gave your info (receipt #s, full name, etc) to anyone on VJ under the guise that they would "help" you through the immigration journey with his inside contacts (like his sister at USCIS) ... please contact OLUInquiries@dhs.gov, and go to http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact to report anything suspicious. Contact your congressman and senator's offices as well.

I called USCIS yesterday. I read about the experience people have and the positive feedback they got from USCIS. The lady from USCIS told me to wait for another 2 months of the transfer date. When I asked her, the normal processing time. She replied that I have to give another 2 months if I did not get any response within that time frame. I feel so screwed. I felt that it is better to have post decision activity than initial review. My case is still stuck in Initial review even after two touches. Do have guys have any plan if your processing time is exceeding 5 months mark?
