oh right, that was for legal immigration.....
That's what I said, bumblebee, for various legal reasons you need a frigging birth certificate. Let me draw you all a narrow picture since that's seems to be the percepts of your mind: A illegal Mexicans couple have baby in Arizona and they are eventually deported. Their baby without a birth certificate. But these couple decide to move to China legally and they need a birth certificate of their baby. What are they going to do then since AZ won't issue a birth certificate even though the baby was born in Arizona?

23-DEC-2016 -:- N400 form mailed to Dallas, TX Lockbox (USPS EXPRESS)

27-DEC-2016 -:- N400 form delivered/picked up by USCIS

01-JAN-2017 -:- N400 form fee check cashed by USCIS

That's not the point, charles. The point is they will need their birth certificate to immigrate to another country. They might need the birth certificate for many other reasons. Beside plenty of Mexicans immigrate to other countries beside USA. If it's so unimaginable that a Mexican might go anywhere beside America: These same Mexicans might want to move to America legally down the road. Edited by IndigoSkies

really???

technically non-US Citizens aren't supposed to get birth certificates. Just as US Citizens technically aren't supposed to get one abroad. If you have a child while out of the country, then you can contact your embassy/consulate, etc to have one issued in your home city/state...

I'm not sure but I believe children of ambassadors holding diplomatic posts in the U.S., even if they are born on US soil are not entitled to US citizenship as they are considered to be 'outside U.S. jurisdiction.'

I had more of a problem with the unworthyness of all mexicans as legacy member said.

Not saying they should be granted automatic citizenship, but couldn't they at least get a certificate of birth?
