Laura.. dont be scared.. that is what they want us to feel.. Just remember that since 9/11 hijacking etc is not taking loosely.. the brits just thwarted something before it happened they are working actively to stop anything that may happen.. I know its hard.. but this incident should give us hope.. and confidence that our governments are there catching the bad guys.

 They have done very well. Its just so sad that there are such bad guys in the first place.

Was anyone else in london the day of the attacks last year?

I took my first ever trip to london on that day. I arrived about 30 minutes after the first subway exploded.

I moved to London the day after (7/8). My mom called me every day all summer long to make sure I was okay.

I was in the train on the Picadilly line about 3 trains behind the bomb that detonated in Russell Square.

I took the tube the very next day.

But you know, it was really nothing -- everyone should talk to someone who lived in London in 1940 who lived to find out what real courage and defiance was all about.

Thankfully, my fiance was here visiting me... otherwise we very likely could've been in London when it was happening, because he lives nearby. It was a very stressful day for us, trying to get ahold of his family to make sure they were okay.

Yes, I am very thankful for the actions of the government and for stopping this from becoming something that could have potentially been a lot more. I have always been afriad of flying but that was even before 911. I lost a friend in 911 and as a new york states citizen, I feel a sense of comadarie with fellow Americans and with British for the attacks on the London Tube. My friends back at home and my children were all worried when they had heard about the attacks last year but they did not know that I was no where near it. But still, it is scary none the less. Will I allow this to prevent me from flying back home?? HELL NO...but what does scare me is the talks of potential WW3 breaking out then events such as today adding to the pressure.

I am thankful for the forum here and for the support and I am thankful for my husband and my children.

Although no one was injured today, I think we should all hold a moment of silence for what could have happened. Afterall, saying a prayer isn't just for the dead, but also for being thankful for what didn't happened but could have happened. We can pray for the continuous safety of both nations, and for the continuity of security that is being held on both ends.

Try telling that to the people who lost friends and family that day. Yes it may not have ben 'as bad' as other times or events, but it is still disrespectful to disregard it in such a manner.
