:( My brother in law JUST flew in from London two nights ago...OMG he had been thinking of delaying the trip! How scary. His parents are in the air now from Australia.

What is happening these days ... it makes me so angry that we can't even fly without worrying about stuff like that.

Finally finished with immigration in 2012!

Getting people to worry about it, not fly and otherwise disrupt people's daily lives is the goal of the people that do this sort of thing. If they can't kill people, they want people them to live in fear.

Guys I know this is a scary topic and its sad to see what some people would do .. Kill innocent people .. but what we do need to look at is this is now the 2nd time that Britain has thwarted a terror attack before it happened.. We have to give thanks to our security forces that have been working hard to stop these type of things before they are happening. That is a little postive turn on this .. Thank you Britain for stopping what could have been a horrible disaster.. My hats off to you!

Great point!! I lived in Manhatten during 9/11 and the aftermath. Many of my friends wouldn't fly or ESP ride the subways. I refused to do that. I was like...if I stop riding the subway, and disrupt my daily life, they win...so I rode the subway every day!! :)

Was I scared sometimes...sure...securty at that time was NONE in the subway. They didn't start the searched until well after I was gone! ANyway just my .02!!

I flew to India in 2003, and was already scared of flying to begin with because I hadn't been on a plane since I was 4 yrs old. I know it was 2 years after 9/11, but it was my first test to see if I could fly without freaking out and thank God I passed the test. :D

Married since 9-18-04(All K1 visa & GC details in timeline.)

I am one of those weirdos who loves to fly. If I have to stand in a longer line, possibly without much of a carry on bag, to get on a plane and go see my fiance, I'll do it.

Terrorists (aka cowards) want us to be afraid and stop living our lives. I hate to disappoint them, but they're not going to stop me.

They won't stop me either

I am just glad that they did stop these idiots before they did real damage. It is unfortunate, but these are the times we are living in now. As soon as the first plane hit the World Trade Center that day.............I think most of us knew that our lives would never be the same again-and they haven't. That sense of security(some say arrogance) is gone.

Best thing to do is keep living life-I certainly wouldn't stop flying because of these di*ks

I couldn't help but to think of my children back home. Ian rang me this morning from work and asked me if I had been watching the news. I turned it on and saw the newbreak on CNN and couldn't believe it. I straight away called my ex and asked him if he had heard anything. There was something in the news last week I believe about them stopping a flight and having it turn around after 2 hours. It too was on its way to the US. My ex said he never heard about it over there. This is really frightening. Especially for those who have just been given their visas to go to the US, and for those of us who are getting closer. All I want is to see my children and this doesn't help the depression that I have already been going through with missing them. Not only that, but it just brings back 911 all over again. How do we protect ourselves if our governments can't???

LJ

just remember...this is another example of when our governments *have* protected us!

we're flying into dublin in 12 days.

I am grateful that the security measures which have been put into place worked as they were supposed to. That should give us some measure of comfort. I will never complain about standing in a long line at the airport again. (Well, never may be too harsh of a word....)
