WHAT IS THE CSC DOING OVER THERE?

I know other people are in the same boat. It has been almost 6 months since I started AOS and almost 4 months since my case got transferred to CSC. They really need to figure out what is going on at their offices because this is getting ridiculous.

I hear ya! I've been waiting since my case got transferred to the CSC in Feb. I was told to make an infopass appointment, or call to see what is going on... Im more irritated at the fact that people who have applied way after I have, already have theirs. No fault of theirs, but seriously the CSC should be working on the cases that got there first.

We're with you. We applied late January, transferred to CSC in Feb and nothing. If you sort the timelines by date filed and only transferred applications, looks like most of the apps from mid-January to mid February have had nothing approved, and but lots of apps after that are approved. Very frustrating that they don't go in order. We wouldn't have minded an interview - we would have had the green card months ago.

I'm wondering when we should do something about it - Anybody know if we have to wait 6 months after applying or after the transfer date before it's considered outside of processing times?

I'm finding comfort in knowing that there are others out there going through the same thing as me (Although we applied in Nov, and it got transferred to CSC in Feb) I dont feel so alone anymore, or thinking that I filed something wrong...ya know? Im not sure when a case would be considered outside of processing times, I will keep an eye out. I do recall seeing 3 months somewhere, but the way it was worded it sounded more like the 90 day time line that you have from when you are married to file for AOS. Please let me know if you happen across a "outside processing time" date.

Just checked the USCIS website, which has a link to processing times each center. It was saying 6 months processing time for I-485 at the CSC for the past month or so (was 5 months for a while before it was 6). Now it says 4 months!!!!! Apparently the chart was updated on June 16th. Which means whether we go by filing date or transfer date (Jan 27 and Feb 18th for ours) then we are officially outside of processing time.

So for the "classification or basis for filing" in the chart, the only listing for 1-485 is "employment based adjustment applications." I'm guessing since this is the only listing they have at the CSC for the i-485 that they also mean K-1 adjustments as well?????

So, anyone know if calling USCIS is worthwhile, or should we just go straight to the infopass appointment?

I've heard pros and cons to both. So what I am going to do is call first and if I dont get through (within a reasonable amount of time) or get the answers that I'm looking for...then I'm going to book an infopass appointment (as the place closest to me is about an hour away or so). I just hope that inquiring about my case wont cause any issues to make the processing longer... ya know? Let me know how it goes for you :)

Today is Day 140 for us. Stuck in CSC limbo.

What is disappointing is that whether an application is transferred apparently depends on how overloaded one's local office is, not because of anything relating to the merits/circumstances of an individual application. I believe that AOS applications should be handled on a national basis, with every application going into the same queue to await processing in its turn. My wife and I shouldn't be penalized because we happened to reside in Atlanta at the time we filed.

Lorenzoid is definitely right. It all depends on the location and how busy there office is , which is not fair. I filed mine in February received an even got an RFE (for medicals ) took care of that and my husband has his greencard now. I guess our office wasnt that busy although we had to drive an hour to get to it in San Antonio, Texas. I hope that you approval comes very soon.

I definately sympathize (sp?) with you. Hopefully those of us who have been waiting for so long, will hear something soon.

I got that exact same response when I called yesterday. Sofar it has only been 118 days since my case has been transferred. I havnt heard of anyone hearing that response before. Atleast Im not the only one. My attorneys say that an AOS application doesnt always require an interview (regardless of where you case is being processed) so hopefully you'll luck out Amanda&Tony...and not get an interview :) Good Luck to you!

Hey folks... I am in the same boat as all of you. I was transfered to the CSC in mid-January and nothing so far.

So I gave the USCIS a call and this is what they told me:

For family-based AOS, they are not suppose to transfer your case. It should be done locally with an interview.

* I think this is a lie because of course there are many with transfered cases that already got GCs.

The normal processing time window for local field office Memphis is 4 months.

* Being transfered in mid-January and it now being July, we are outside the window of normal processing time.

* The guy started a reference case to investigate the status of our case and said we will be contacted within 45 days with something (which I think is too long).

* He said doing an InfoPass wasn't neccessary.

I just hope doing this doesn't screw up our GC process... especially if our case gets transfered back to Memphis when it was almost done.
