Italian national team dives and fakes injury way more than any other country in the world. A part of me was surprised how reserved they were this time which ultimately cost them the tournament. Had they dove like they did in ’06, either they would’ve been disqualified (my pipe dream) or they would’ve advanced further than they did. That's why their thieves. Though Cristano Ronaldo dives, as a team Portugal is far better than the Italians.

hav fuan ckrrectiny muy spulleng musktishs.

I'm not clueless about soccer. I happen to enjoy it very much and watch it a lot. As you can imagine, I don’t care about any of the Italian tournaments.

The only smart thing about this post is that you finally learned how to spell "thieves"...

well, its true I'd rather watch Canavarro and the Italians than Rooney's ugly mug.....oh hang on, the football....

I must say this time around we had quite a bit of ugly mugs too :P ...the football of course was even worse

You are just blinded by your blind hatred of Italian football, if not all things Italian. Now that you have mastered the spelling of thieves, I believe you should take a look at the proper usage of they're and their.

I feel really bad Argentina has to play with Mexico in an elimination game :(

I feel bad about England and Germany too :(

I think you are showing a bias based on the FIFA ratings and history. Germany lost to Serbia and England scored a grand total of two goals in group play. While I realize that the round of 16 match-ups are not created by a seeding process, I wouldn't consider Germany or England to be high seeds so it seems fair to me that they meet.

Mexico only beat the French team, parts of which refused to play or had already gone home. Argentina is definitely a top contender, but I see them as a strong favorite over Mexico. Overall, I don't see the matchups as too unfair.

It does seem that the USA is in a good place to make it to the semis although anything can happen. Uruguay topped a rather weak group and Korea and Ghana are both beatable.

Yes.. you are right... I just think I like these teams and I would love to see them go further... The Left wing Uruguay, Ghana, USA, Korea and I will go for Brasil-Spain with (L) for Spain :)

So.. assuming Argentina makes the right wing :);):DB-):DB-) We might have Spain, Brasil or Uruguay... so.. It seems like a good final :)

We should open PREDICTIONS

Mine is ARGENTINA-SPAIN and It will not matter to me the winner with this final... My heart goes both ways :)

BTW I didn't forgot Netherlands... I just have a little gut feeling they will not make it... Maybe is just my "scary gut" :D

Argentina-Spain is a gutsy prediction since Spain has a good chance of not making it out of the group, in my opinion. That will be resolved soon, though.

I predict that the semis will be USA vs. Brazil and Argentina vs. Chile (all American final four). Logically, I would predict the finals to be Brazil vs. Argentina but I would really like to see the USA beat Brazil.

Good chance of not making it out of the group? They had a minimum chance of not make it.. and now.. well... there is your second gol... They might even end up first in their group :)

I like your prediction too thou.. except for Brasil.. they will not make it.. and if they do... I will feel  As they don't have a good team to deserve it... but Once again.. In futbol winners are not the ones who deserve it.. winners are the ones who win 7 games... yes.. you have to go out there and win 7 games... and that is all :girlwerewolf2xn:

At the end of the first half, it's Spain: 2, Chile: Bagel. Looks much better for Spain than you make it seem. In fact, all it takes now is for Switzerland to win their game 1:0 and the group leader going into the last match - Chile - is out. Not a likely scenario but it's not at all unthinkable. Slovenia had a similar surprise a few days ago.

Heh. Yeah, it appears things have changed since I posted. Chile pretty much self destructed. Down two goals and a man. If Switzerland can score, it will be Chile that is out. I guess I'll refrain from making predictions.
