Maybe, just maybe that'll teach him a lesson before he gets out in 15 months (served 3 already) and kills an actual person... You know that's next.

BROWNSVILLE, Texas - A teen who pleaded guilty to killing a neighborhood puppy in Brownsville has been sentenced to 18 months in state jail.

A judge on Thursday sentenced 19-year-old Mario Alberto Gasca, who pleaded guilty to cruelty to non-livestock animals. A count of tampering with evidence was dropped as part of the plea agreement.

Gasca, who's been jailed in Cameron County for more than 100 days, will get credit for time served.

Another teen faces trial over the December death of the dog. Police say the animal had been kicked and stabbed.

A dangerous individual for sure, whatever led him to embark on such cruelty and of course it is will known that people who inflict cruelty on animals can indeed progress to doing the same to humans. I am sure most people would wish him to be given treatment for his perversions and monitored on his return to the general population.

However, is it really any kind of answer to suggest inflicting the same torture on him as he inflicted on the animal? I mean, really? Isn't the thought of doing something like that equally perverted and disgusting? Do you really want to live in a society that routinely tortures those found guilty of heinous crimes? I can say quite adamantly that I do not (not that I for one moment believe that the US justice system is heading down that particular path)

I am also at a loss as to why it's appropriate to suggest that gay people have forced sex with him as an apt punishment. That seems quite outrageous as well.

It's an unfortunate picture and I am sure it is designed to give that impression, whether or not he was contrite after the event or not. If someone is that cavalier though, it rather points to a deficiency in his capacity to empathise with others, which is a very dangerous thing if left unchecked.

I'm fairly liberal in many issues, but in cases like this I think it's of paramount importance to make sure that such a guy doesn't procreate and spread his genes to the next generation of criminals. Thus, he should be surgically castrated and then be punished later as the judge sees fit.

Should have nutted the #######, covered him with ###### scent, and thrown him in a kennel full of assorted large male dogs fresh off the street, before they get neutered as well.

What leads you to believe that whatever led this person to behave so despicably is genetic? Do we know anything about his parents behaviours? That seems pretty arbitrary an assessment to me, whether or not he would make good parenting material which as things stands is obviously not so much.

Yeah I think it's both. That's gotta be some form of narcisistic personality disorder, surely. Someone who inflicts pain on those weaker than themselves, who can't fight back and has no sense of empathy. Enough pride to boldly smile for a picture which he knows people are going to see. He and Fox News did each other a favour by doing so I'm sure.

Well this is all useless speculation for the hell of it but I'm gonna say it was environmental and not genetic. I understand that there are some people who are just "crazy" born into a good family anyways but to me it seems pretty much everything has a cause and effect. I'd think that he had parents who were substance abusers who thought he was worthless.
