I originally thought I was an April filer. However, Igor's list has me in May. USCIS originally accepted the application 27th April (whew, that was a long time ago)but the NOA1 was generated 03rd May. So the waiting continues.

Hi agynyame,

the more the merrier for may filers I say! =) best of luck on your journey feel free to keep us updated.

Hi Atencio,

Thats great to hear that you are gathering doc's and getting organized, I don't know if it's that "fun" for me personally it feels like work, but worth it to get hubby here, and gathering bonafides is fun like pictures and memento's for sure. I know you'll be prepared for sure when the time comes! Keep us updated~

Hi Angelheart1962,

hmm, did you make an account at USCIS website and then put the case number/s in the portfolio? I know that on the dashboard thing says initial review for us, as it lists the steps "generalized" and they'll put in the portfolio if it's been "touched" by the "last updated date". Hope this helps as I'm not sure what you have done or haven done or if they haven't updated it for you.

Best wishes,

My little update:

I started my first day of work today it sure was tough, hopefully I'll manage though  .

I hope everyone is doing well and managing the duration of waiting the best they can I wish that it'll go by faster! In the meantime I'll be busy with work and what ever time I have left over to relaxing or getting paperwork together heh. It sure feels like it'll be really hot here this summer, sigh.

Hi Jen and Greet! I would like to ask you about USCIS site. Does it work normally?

I made an account, put the case numbers, then I marked yes to e-mailing me about last update. But now I can not see my portfolio because every time when I want to see the page with my portfolio I see 500 internet error. I think it was very fortunate that i could make my portfolio. But how can I see last updated date for my cases? may be it depends on time of week or day?

How to sign up for Case updates at USCIS website~

Here are some basic steps if people haven’t done this or are confused.

1. Go to http://www.uscis.gov and on left side of website under “after I file” click “sign up for case updates” make an account, I think you’ll also get a confirmation email check to be sure, I can’t remember

2. After you have an account look under “after I file” and click “Check my case status”

3. Sign in as (user Type: customer), (User ID: your username), (Password: your pass) these are case sensitive so enter it correctly.

4. On left of page Select “my portfolio” and then on the page click “add a case to your portfolio”.

5. Enter your “receipt number” then click submit (the receipt number will be at the top left of your NOA1).

Right way to enter receipt number: WAC0123456789 (capital letters no spaces or dashes! If asterik's ** are in the receipt number add them.)

Wrong way to enter receipt number: WAC-01-234-56789

6.If you were successful you can customize your updates to receive them as email or mobile phone text msg or both, you can click on the receipt number itself to see the dashboard, but it’s pretty generalized ours is highlighted at “initial review”.

I hope this helps if anyone has made a simple mistake, if you follow these steps and it still doesn’t work call USCIS as I’m sure they’ll let you know if something else is wrong hopefully. Good luck!

Richard&Elena,

For other people I haven’t asked if it’s worked I would assume for most it should, and it has worked for me. I made and account first then signed in.

There could have been something wrong with your internet? Or the USCIS server might have been down or down for maitnenance? I’m not sure; just try again if you haven’t already I hope it works for you again. Also if you wanted to know about last updated on your case basically if the date listed “changes” from the date they received your I-130 (Received date is below your receipt number on the NOA1) then its been updated, also it’s not a bad thing if you don’t see updates while your waiting for NOA2 sometimes they just issue an NOA2 without any updates so don’t worry to much about it.

If you get that internet 500 error again you can try this out and see if you can find out the problem?

Hey Angelheart~

I posted some steps on signing up for case status you can just look at the step that your currently on “adding case to your portfolio” and see if you might have done something wrong if it doesn’t help go ahead and call USCIS to make sure the number is correct and that they didn’t make a mistake. I hope that it’ll get fixed for ya.

Sehar & Waqas,

Your right about it not taking 30 days as far as “I” know maybe it could have something to do with service centers, but I see that most of us are being processed at California center so I don’t know. Just keep trying and at least you know they have the case and are processing it.

Hello there mamamimi,

Welcome to the thread glad you found our group. I see that you got U.S. citizenship in May Congrats~

:wow: seven trips in the span of a year lucky you, wish I had the money for that to fly and visit hubby, but alas I'm saving to go there for the future consular interview. It would be nice if you got the interview on the dates that you'll be visiting, but don't hope for it as it can't really be predicted how long processing will be, which sucks, but thats how it is :( .

I would be happy to hear updates from you on your journey, feel free to chat with us whenever you have something interesting to say or good news or (even the bad if that should be unfortunate to happen).

I wish you the best of luck and happiness~! :star:

May 2010 CR-1/IR-1 Filers Thread

“Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices in truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” (Corinthians 13:4-7)
