Called NVC, the operator said my case was not completed, let me call back tomorrow. And, she said Interview Date schedules on the second week of each month

Looking forward to tomorrow :)

Congrats lilib  .

Mine was SIF on May 19th. But don't know the interview date yet. I see yours was assigned the next day. How did you find out about your interview date? Did you call and ask about it or did you get an email notification? I have called twice and both times operator told me they are done with June dates and have to wait for July. But I can still see couple of packets were sent on DHL that belonged to May 19 and May 20th Reference, for Islamabad. I am wondering if one of those packets happened to be mine but the operator might not have the information. I am going to call today again to find out but not sure what to ask for?

I think, that we will know any news next week. I very much hope, that we will receive NOA1 on my son. I would not like to send one more case. It can borrow 2 weeks. Then the difference in petitions will be greater. But while we wait and we hope for the best.

I will inform here about all news. But something is not visible other May competitors of the visa. Probably we are one here who has submitted petitions in May.

All the best!

How are things going Richard&Elena? Hope things will get fixed with your situation soon.

Hi All,

I and my wife just sent our papers last week!

Joining the gang of May 2010 CR-1 filers!!

I have a couple of questions:

(1) Assuming it takes between 120-150 days until NOA2, when should I start requesting Police Clearance Certificates for my wife (from India) so that we are ready for DS-230/I-864 filing with NVC.

(2) On a similar note, is it ok to have the medical exam done around/ just before NOA2, hoping that there would be no RFE. The medical exam results are valid till one year.

Thanks

Hi Jen and Geert!

Unfortunately we do not have any news. We are in waiting. Only we have subscribed for updatings of our petitions on site USCIS. But my husband tells me that we have to wait their answer. May be later we will write e-mail them.

Waiting is the most difficult in visa process.

I noticed on USCIS. They changed time for petitions I-130. Now it is 6 months not 5 as was early.

Hope you will be more happy in this process!

All the best!

I-864 isn't needed until you get your NOA2 and hit the NVC phase, my advice is get your husband to get ahold of the IRS at 1(800)829-1040 and request tax transcripts for the last 3 years. They're absolutely free. :)

As a beneficary, if you don't have a long-form copy of your birth certificate, I suggest you get one. You will be required to send in an original birth certificate and marriage certificate at the NVC phase. :B Youll get them back at the interview though.

Good luck. :B

Awesome!, Congrats and welcome to the May filers group =)

1) For info on police certificates in india link below

it also mentions their valid up to one year

Mumbai Consulate

2)for me personally we won't get hubby a medical until we got apointment letter to be on safe side, I think you have to have the appointment letter in hand to get the medical exam?

Anyways I'm sure someone might be able to answer these questions better than me as I'm in the same boat as all the other may filers being a novice at this process and all

“Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices in truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” (Corinthians 13:4-7)

Good luck. :B

Right, once you get the tax transcripts (last three tax years) you can fill out as much as you can or all of it if you have the information together and then check, sign and date it when your ready to mail it (when NVC requests it later on) that way it's not rushed to put them together at the last minute which would be bad, thats when we tend to make more mistakes rushing to make deadlines, try to be prepared as you can you won't regret it!

Anyone who doesn't know what they need to get ready for next steps can check the NVC checklist that I wrote further up in this thread or go check out the guides on the this vj website they are useful also =).
