Wow .... after an hour interview we were APPROVED on the spot !!!! Yeah us

Hmmm I will try to give some details as we are a bit tipsy from celebrating ...lol

Interview time 10:30 am

Showed up at 1015 , went through security ...Waited in the main room , and only 1 other couple there ...they were called shortly after we got there .. My and my wife joked around for a bit and then we were called in about 1031 ..

The IO was kinda of stern at first , I went to shake his hand but he seemed confused by that ...I guess I was raised differently but I always put my hand out when I greet someone ... anyway .. He showed us to his office , told us to have a seat and he would be back in a few .... So we sat down and then he came back in , had us stand up and swear to tell the truth and asked us to sit down again.

The IO asked for our ID's then started going over our paper work. The details are a bit fuzzy at this point but things started to seem to relax as we talked more about our relationship and if I had ever been to the philippines , which Of course I had ...funny thing is so had our IO , so we started talking about that , plus he was in the Army and my oldest son just enlisted into the Army as well just recently so that seemed to put more of the conversation personal ... He asked how we met , we told him the whole story ...he asked to see photos of us in the Philippines ..

Now , he kept asking my wife why she was here here in 2008 , and she was never here in 2008 so she kept saying no , 2009 ...almost like he was trying to catch at something ...LOL but it was not bad at all ....as we were talking he started stamping everything APPROVED and then printed out the condition papers ...he asked if we had any questions .. and of course I asked if we could get the I551 stamp cause we have a big cruise the first week of September and my wife needs to get her Schengen Visa and we need to apply for that , like tomorrow ...He said we dont normally do that but since I know your son is going to serve his country I will help you out ....Yeah ... I didnt care what it took , we just needed that stamp so she could get her visa to travel ...LOL

So we are approved and have our stamp ... Thanks everyone here on VJ for all the tremendous help .... Now to get her sons I130 done and we have a little time to live life then get ready for ROC ...

So I have a question...people say that they are bringing their old passports, are these only the passports since your last entry/last visa or all of the passport you have ever had? I don't have my old passports in the US, not even sure where they are in Sweden. The one I have here is the one with my F1 visas and that I used since I moved here to study (2006). Getting a little nervous about this as I have visited the US before but on Visa Waiver using my old passport but only for vacation/visiting friends.

Also ####### I GOT MY EAD IN THE MAIL. I *just* checked the USCIS website and they still say they ordered production of it. So I never got the 3rd notice. It's nice and has LOTS of letter everywhere. I look kind of cute on the card.

okay...maybe I'm being impatient but does anyone thinks its wired that I haven't got my interview letter or an EAD production yet. VJ EAD processing time says they are process applications filed on May 16th 2010 and the average day between bio and EAD approval is 33days. I fall within both those stipulations. I file on may 7th and its been about 40 days since my bio.

Do you think I should be worried, because I am.

Tuts, I received the interview letter 57 days after receiving bio letter and 51 days after completing bio.

Also, I received the first EAD production order 63 days after receiving bio letter and 57 days after completing bio.

So in my opinion, and keeping in mind that we both have the case at Lee Summit, MO, I think you are fine.

One thing that I did was to call USCIS and expedite the EAD telling them that my wife had a debt to pay and I needed to work. That probably helped but again, your timeline seems just fine.

If you look at my timeline you will see that there was a period of over 40 days (between 5/27 and 7/8) without any updates until I received the interview letter on 7/8.

Good luck

I kind of want to call to see if they tell me anything different from the website. Would i have to speak to a human, though? Also which number do I call?

What I do all the time is call dont select any options they give me and they think I am probably have a disability or speak spanish and they put me through to the spanish rep and then I coyly say no habla espanol  ...and the unaware rep aplogizes and say u came in on my spanish line...and they help with whatever question I have...always works...at one point I even spoke to an IO.

For us those where only the passports that we had when living abroad (UK, US) since you can keep your passports then (invalidated). At least for us if we renew passports in our own country they are taken in (as they are property of the state), unless there is current visa in it.
