If all is well, you should have a SIF by tomorrow as well.

But I don't know about these supervisor review thingies, those mess up my averages a bit.

Thanks and good luck at the interview!

There are advantages to a July interview (time to save more money to spend while I am there...LOL).

The big reason I need to know a date is to get my vacation time. More people keep putting their dates in, and I start to think I may have to quit Wal-Mart to make the trip. But I will do whatever it takes... I have to be with him!

So we sent our IV Package (DS-230 and Civil Documents) on May 4th and it reached NVC on the morning of May 5th.

But in the evening yesterday (May 5th) we got an email from NVC attorney with a Checklist Cover Sheet attached and a message saying we do not have your DS-230 and civil documents.

So nice of them to remind us! :)

Has that happened to anyone? What is the right thing to do in this situation? Just ignore the notification which was clearly generated before our package got "in the system"?

I called NVC and they said just wait for a few days. The rep said just ignore the notification. So I guess we will just wait for a few days.

My concern is that we sent our IV package with the cover sheet we printed from the Fee Payment page. However NVC sent a different cover sheet with yesterday's notification. Would they be expecting us to send documents with the new cover sheet? Would our documents be directed to the right place even though we used the Fee Payment cover sheet? It had a barcode on it and everything so it should work. Except that it said Attn: CMR whereas the one we got yesterday says Attn: DR and instead of 32 in the address, it has 31.

ya - this is 'normal' - don't sweat it. there should be a DATE PRINTED on that letter - examine that date, try to figure out what was going on with yer casefile anywhere from 3 to 5 days prior - whatever 'that event' was, was the thing that triggered that mail. Period.

re: coversheet from the online payment portal. Relax. Yer Golden. You used the right coversheet.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

That's my plan too if my company deny my last minute vacation request to be with my husband during the interview...I really want to be there, and hopefully fly back with him...a little worry about POE as his English is not that good, and his first flght to the USA? I really want to be there...not knowing when the interview is kinda prevent you to plan for the vacation. I already updated the I864 and requested Tax transcript for 2009 already. Will start printing/gathering evidence maybe next week.

Yup..will do whatever it takes. And anyway, as long as I put in a 2-week notcie for quitting my job, I think I can cash out my accumulated vacation hours...which will help with the trip anyway...just worry about if I can find a job once we are back to the state...

Anyway...good luck and best wishes to every one. Thanks again for all the congratulations. It seems like only people on VJ know what it means to have a SIF...

FYI: They DO keep a log of how many times you call so you don't want to be calling too many times a day.

Vanessa--You can always check the AVR which will tell you when your package has been forwarded to the Embassy.

You're not gonna get a tracking # out of some NVC drone. We get that you're worried about your originals, all of us are. Nobody wants to run around AFTER this process is over, trying to get new birth certificates and marriage certificates.

Your interview is practically two months away. Most likely, it won't be sent out for another couple of weeks. It's probably sitting safely at NVC.

Relax. And don't stress.

Happy weekend, y'all.

Thanks Sachi. The point is that the AVR has already been updated and the package HAS been sent, as of May 4th and the NVC rep confirmed that it was in fact mailed on out the 4th, but I didn't see it on DHL. I'm not stressing yet. Like I said, I will verify with the embassy next week.

Thanks!

Nothing was happening that would have triggered it. It's just that the AVR status was "Awaiting biographic information..." for a long time so they just got bored of waiting and sent us a reminder. That's cool. It means they care!

Also, the notification said they have looked over the AOS package (I-864) so I hope that saves us a few days.

Be patient. It took 2 weeks for them to even OPEN our DS230 package!

I called and asked about the cover sheet because I did the same thing. The operator said either one is ok! :)

Thanks! It is assuring to know others have faced this issue too!

Why don't you expect to find out next week Married? Your case complete was the 14th of April. Shouldn't that have allowed plenty of time for you to be eligible for an interview in this next round?

Montreal seems to be backed up 2-3 months. This is the normal time, it seems, for Montreal. Last year, they were backed up about 5 months. Also, I noticed that the emails from Montreal that were received for June appts were sent out the first couple of days in May.
