We've been to Florida (will be living in Tampa) so did Orlando. We've done LA (meh) and Vegas. But the coolest for me was driving from NYC to Buffalo over Xmas. Loved driving in the snow. Saw some of the prettiest scenery in New York State but damn was it cold. So for me, can't wait for the next American road trip ...

For us it's San Diego Zoo (1st thing she wants to see), then shopping, Sea World, the beach..... then in month or we get married and probably will be hanging out in Disneyland....wish it was Disneyworld, I been there 10 times and love that place, but with all this Visa money out of my pocket ...just can't afford trip to Florida. Disneyland is just a few hours drive north. :)

San Diego Zoo  I also loved the Wild Animal Park up near Carlsbad (I think - its been too many years and I'd love to bring Doan out to see)

Another thing that can be a bit difficult to grasp at first is how big the US is (if coming from a very small country). Doan is from Vietnam and we met another couple in HCMC (Jim and Phuong). Doan asked one day we "can go to visit them", I said "sure but well have to plan a vacation". "Why" she said. "Well", I said, "We live in Erie, PA and they live in San Francisco". "So", she said. When I told her if we drive 8 hours a day it will take a week to get there she didn't believe me

So I got out a map and showed her, the only real option is to fly out and back. If we want to drive I'd have to take the summer off so we can stop and see all the sights on the way out and back!

Going shooting with John was probably one of those 'American'experiences I had never encountered in this form in Germany before...buying your ammo at Walmart and then shooting in the desert...quite impressive

oh yeah, and going out for a real American burger with fries and strawberry shake and drive-in movies...those are things that are always on my list, too, when I go visit him.

What I can recommend too is a Mission tour when you're in Cali, up Highway 1, and enjoying the Missions along the way...gorgeous...

Lol, Anna and I have spoke of shooting. She has never fired a weapon. I hope they have not taken those rights away from us before she comes!! We will sent a few down range.

Ooooh! Drive in movie! I've lived in the US my whole life, and I've still never done that. Would definitely like to, before they tear them all down.

Pandora Radio is only available in the US.

Same with hulu  . Something tells me my hun isn't going to enjoy "Glee" as much as I do, though...

With all the AOS and wedding expenses coming up, we'll not be taking any trips in the near future. It's definitely going to be about the "simpler pleasures"; things like Wishing pointed out. Getting groceries, trips to local museums, walking around town, looking for a new apt. Just getting used to sharing life with this wonderful other person again, for a little while....

Well, living in the deep south makes me feel realyl sorry for him and I am not wanting to plan TOO much outdoors given that he will probably arrive in the mid to late summer. I don't want him to spontaneously combust. Seriously, he thinks 75 degrees with no humidity in the summer is hot. MUAHWWAAAAA. Poor guy.

I was surprised at just how much Rob enjoyed looking at the scenery here. We really weren't able to do A LOT any time he came to visit, but there is a lot of stuff to do around here. Arkansas has TONS of state parks, so there is camping, fishing, canoeing, swimming, skiing, and the list goes on there. There is also a small theme park nearby, lots of golf courses, and a zoo.

The kicker for me though is this. He's never seen a baseball game. EVER. WHAT THE  ? I think I am going to take him to a ball game.
