The history of the strugles of the people in this country makes it a fact.

You can't take the situation in isolation and then judge the reaction. There reaction is packed full of history. If the courts are the only way to address the discrimination, then so be it.

No they don't. Not in the least.

Reaction to something for whatever reason from an individual is strictly on a personal level. Just because someone had a tough time growing up or grew up in an ugly situation doesn't mean that things regarding that situation are going to harm them or make them feel even more outcast.

As I've said before it all matters about strength of will and character. You're either weak from your past and let it eat yuo alive or you let your past shape you to be better. In either case it's ultimately a personal choice on how you want to take something in if you are an average capable human being.

So in essense, anyone who has any type of rational thought would think that a 14 year old girl making the announcement is a plain idiot, but there would be no reason to get up in arms or offended by it as her words might have meaning to some, but understanding that there's no real adverse effect is what makes it ultimately different on an individual basis rather than a societal basis.

If this was all the same girl, I'd be curious about her meds.

If it was different girls, I'd be curious if any linkage with the same white supremicist group.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

So you think character building is irrelevant?

What exactly do you mean by zero tolerance?

Can you imagine the fun we could have on OT if we all sued each other for psychological damage? Domestic terrorist sympathizers and evolution deniers all damage me and make me sad. I sue you all!

you worried and gonna lawyer up?

On the face of it, a juvenile prank doesn't merit criminal charges or meet a case for civil damages.

Of course, this is the US - where it is customary to sue someone if your coffee is too hot and you don't bother to check before drinking it.

Personally, I would be more concerned with why criminal charges relating specifically to acts of racism or prejudice are on the law books. Clearly there must be precedent to some underlying problem in that direction - it would be foolish to claim that the US is a color-blind society when it is anything but.

The real issue as I see it, is not racism, but the fact that the US seems to have no shortage of finger-wagging laws that can get you a jail sentence for not doing a whole lot. Huge waste of taxpayers money to prosecute this stuff.
