proof of step-parent/step-child relationship

I have 2 step children whose interviews are very soon for cr-2. One child I have met. The other I have only spoken to on the phone, but my two bio children have been spending their spring breaks and summer vacations with my step children and the grandparents for two years already. Is that proof enough? Also, will I be at their interview with them inside the embassy (Ciudad Juarez)or will I be made to wait outside?

Proof of meeting is not needed for a CR-2. The proof of immediate relative relationship is what is needed here. If your can document your marriage to the alien parent and the alien parent can document that they are the legal parent of the children (say via say birth certificate). Since the I-130 has been approved then that has been done. The interview for this situation is more process completion than anything of substance.

YMMV

Basically what my Husband took was the same things we used at the Interview for him for AOS, Bills, Leases and other co mingling of assests.

Not sure if you can go into the consulate or not, hopefully someone whohas been there can answer this for you

Why is it that the only one who can stop the crying is the one who started it in the first place?

Thx. I thought by relationship it was meant that you had to show a social bond, but it is talking about a legal one, I suppose. And yes, that has definitely been established already. I always stress at the last minute thinking I haven't prepared well enough.

Quickly though at the interview for my 2 step sons, the CO wanted copies of all three years of the sponsor taxes ( mine ) hubby had to go and make copies ( at like 5 bucks  ) as I only had copies of the most recent year in duplicate. Make sure you have at least 2 copies of each and everything you are bringing in case they want any of the copies. Better to be a little over prepared then have to come back becuase a copy is missing Good Luck

my two stepchildren are waiting for their interview at the embassy. What else do we need to bring with us for proof of relationship besides their birth certificate?
