:) :) :)

We need to keep ourselves sane by joking about the whole process, otherwise we'll all go down the depression hole.... I don't want the light at the end of the tunnel to turn out to be a train coming my way.....

AMEN!!!!!! That is usually the light I see..

Heres my new dillema! So, I wish we would have included my husbands son on our original petition. We didnt - he said he wanted to come here first and acclimate before we brought him over. Anyone know what I need to do to get that ball rolling? I know Im still waiting for my husbands interview, but GOSH I know things will be hard and he will miss our son so much. I want to start his petition, etc so we can all be a family.

On the topic of RFE's, if you have more than one, do they all have to be sent together? I ask, because our RFE's were in regards to my Wife's I-864 and my police criminal check.

On the email we received from the NVC it said to send them allllll together. However, the police want to send my fingerprints directly to the NVC, but that package won't have the I-864 with it. Does that make sense? Anyway, can 2 seperate packages with the same RFE barcode be sent?

Package 1:

RFE Receipt

I-864

Package 2:

RFE Receipt

Fingerprints

Thanks in advance

Alicia, I think you just have to send the I-130 to USCIS. Its been pretty fast the approvals right now. Maybe you will get it in about 3 months. Not counting NVC and interview time though.

How old is the boy?

hahaha, yes its pretty much it.

my friend who got screwed with the K3/4 just sent the petition to her daughter this week.

If he is only 4 all is good. I think you dont even have to send the G325 in his name. Only if he was over 14. But I'd check the guides to make sure =)

Btw, are you feeling better sweetie?

I just want this whole process to END before it consumes me, chews me up intil little peices and spits me out... :help:

I dont know about 8 months, but it seems everyone who sent the petition in Dec/Jan is already getting approved. So lets hope his process will be fast too.

Are you kidding about the Consulate? Thats weird.... In BR all the Consulates process non-immigrant visas, but when it comes to immigrants only the consulate in Rio does. And they also have a private floor for USC/immigrant-section and everything. Its a completely separated process. Did you try to call NVC and see what they say?

Oh, I really hopes whoever gave you that information is mistaken.

You will see, we'll get our interviews in no time hon, cheer up! We are sooo close!!! Don't give up just yet!

Hey Mike - we haven't been RFE'd yet but we will be. Incorrect I-864 and he left off our bank statement. Loser.

Anyway, I don't understand why NSW Police want to send it directly to NVC. I know of others who have had their checks sent directly to them in NSW for K1's. Very odd. But you can send them separately. Good luck ... :star:

You have to answer that if you are the petitioner. The only way you dont answer that is if you are a co-sponsor.

I want to start his petition, etc so we can all be a family.

Alicia, one of the Thai girls was going for K3/K4 and had to switch, too. Not the case for you, but still similar.

Here's her steps:

1. Send in I-130 and G-325A for the son.

2. Follow usual USCIS waiting and online case status checks.

3. Get NOA2.

4. Get case number from NVC.

5. Follow all the usual NVC #######.

6. Get an interview for the son. Have Dad attend, too. You, too, if they let USCs attend interviews. Mom will have to sign some paper saying she's allowing the son to permanently leave the country to reside in the US with his father. Or Dad has to show legal proof of sole custody. Even then, Mom may be required to sign papers. These papers are submitted with the DS-230 and again at the interview.

7. Family is reunited to live together happily ever after.

The End.

I'll call her in the morning and see what else I'm missing. Good news: USCIS approvals are taking about 2 months now. Plus 2-3 to get through NVC. Visa in 5 months. He may be able to come here at the same time as Dad, provided Dad's CR-1 hasn't expired yet. Yay!
