I thought of another one-those people who insist on paying by check in the grocery store. It wouldn't be so bad, if they didn't:

Wait until their whole giant order was rung up to then dig for their checkbook in their gigantic suitcase of a purse. Then look for a pen. Then ask for a pen. Then fill out the whole check in the slowest fashion possible.

They they of course are shocked, SHOCKED! that the cashier needs to see their ID, which they then have to go digging out of the giant suitcase purse, dumping all of the items inside onto the grocery belt.

Yeah, I'm a little impatient, and this may be somewhat exaggerated, but not much. Why don't people use check cards in 2010????

 Sooooo, my brother is gay and he lives in California. I've actually had people say "OMG! My friend is gay! Does your brother know him?!" Yes. There's a registry for gay people, they all belong to it, and they all know each other. Asshat.

 People seem to do that for all kinds of reasons.

My husband is from Peru and every time he's in Peru, people ask him... "My nephew/cousin/neice/uncle/aunt/friend lives in the US... her name is Maria/Juan/Carlos/Pablo.... do you know them?" The US is HUGE. Forget California.

I hate that and the random song quotes which supposedly have something to do with their life and it's like they want you to ask them "OMG what's wrong?" I just don't care, so I just started 'liking' all of those melancholy cryptic song titled statuses... hahaha

I post song lyrics sometimes. But not to be cryptic. Just because I'm listening to something and it sticks in my head. Plus, it amuses me when people finish the song for me

And those are such uncommon names!

sometimes I like to put song lyrics too especially if they're Flight of the Conchords songs.

OMG, I met him/her/it at the store the other day.

I hate it when people are late or take a long azz time to get out of the house. Biggest thing that drives me nuts is people wearing shoes in the house!

People wear shoes in the house? I thought that they only did that on TV. :bonk:

My husband won't walk around the house without shoes / slippers on. It's a habit, in his house in Peru the floors are all cement or tile and the floor is cold plus your feet get dirty.

I walk around barefoot all the time and he looks at me like  . He bought me slippers for my birthday, it was a hint I think. I use them now since it's winter but as soon as May/June rolls around I'm getting my pedicure and going barefoot again

I always wear slippers in the house. I have worn shoes (loafers) but they do not ever go outside and in bedrooms I am always barefoot.

I think people should be naked in the house.

If you saw me with no clothes on, you would reconsider that statement.

I'm okay with it if they actually use quote marks to show it's a quote and not just "Mark can't wait to get threw this phase etc etc..." (although spelling through as THREW is funny too)...

which leads me to.. people who don't know the difference between through and threw and though (even though the last sounds different!) or bought and brought (to teach you something new, if you BRING it, bring has BR so it's "brought" but if you bought it the b is closer to the u as in "buy" so it's "bought"... though I tend to only think "bring"

I ALWAYS wear socks. I don't like going barefoot. As a kid I did all the time, now I appreciate clean feet :).. especially as have you ever walked behind someone in bare feet and seen how filthy their feet are? **shudder**

I work for a large corporation and there are 8,000 employees who work at the campus where I work. My pet peeves are classified into what should be know as "Rules of the Road When Not in a Car"...

Building Etiquette:

-- People who try to get on an elevator before the people getting off on that floor can get out.

-- People who walk on the wrong side of "normal" direction of traffic in the hallways and passage ways.

-- People walking in groups of two or more side-by-side in a hallway who expect on-coming traffic to get out of their way, or are walking too slow for people behind them to pass.

-- People on breaks who walk through the hallways reading books -- seriously... no book is that good that you have to read it on your way from your desk to the bathroom or cafeteria.

-- Smokers (which should be enough said)... but smokers who throw their butts on the ground instead of using the designated ashtray at the smoking area provided by the company.

-- This one is probably unique to my job, but we have a revolving glass turnstile that requires employees to scan their employee badges. This security door is the inner door of the airlock. While it may be courteous for a person to hold the outer door of the airlock for me or others, they slow down the flow of traffic through the security turnstile and now me and everyone behind me has to wait for them.

Parking lot etiquette:

-- Drivers who literally spend 20 minutes circling the parking lot looking for closer spot instead of taking one of the thousands of spaces they already passed and walking into the building.

-- The same drivers who slowly follow me through the parking lot in hopes of getting the space I am about to give up at the end of my shift. (I counter this by walking down an aisle that isn't mine and walk between cars so to my aisle to ditch them.

-- The same drivers who find me at my spot and wait impatiently (despite the multitudes of open parking they already passed) while I get into my vehicle to go. (I counter this by delaying my own departure for as long as need be for them to move on.... because I'm a #######.)
