I put the case number on EVERYTHING.... :D

Melody, question for you. I am almost ready to send in the DS-230. I know that I will send the originals but do I also send zerox copies of the origs. When I sent in the I-864 I did not find out until later that I should put the NVC # on all pieces. I did have it stapled together with the cover sheet on top. Hope they don't have a problem with that.

At least now I know to put the NVC # on all pieces of the DS-230.

So please just answer my question about the originals and zerox copies.

AOS package:

I-864 Coversheet (with barcode) for payment of $70

Form I-864 (signed and dated)

2008 Federal Tax Return/W2 and 1099s or IRS tax transcript.

2007 Federal Tax Return and W2 and 1099s or IRS tax transcript.

2006 Federal Tax Return/W2 and 1099s or IRS Tax Transcript

Letter of Employment

Pay stub(s) from the most recent six months

Bank Statements.

Some people are choosing to send in 2009 W2s.

Remember, the USC petitioner will file a I-864 regardless of income. If your joint sponsor lives in the same household as the petitioner, then they will use I-864A. If they live in a separate residence, then they will fill in another I-864.

For your joint sponsor you will need proof of their citizenship/residency. For household member, you will need proof of relationship and same household/residence.

So do we send 2 copies of each paper or just 1 copy of the taxes for each year? Also for the check stubs do we send 2 copies or just one of each stub?

So please just answer my question about the originals and zerox copies.

When I sent in the IV packet I made 2 copies of all the packet and sent it all in. At the interview, right off the bat, they gave me back BOTH photocopy packets AND all the nicely done covered letters that I put in with the cover letters that was generated at the NVC website. Boy, talking about taking the wind out of my sails....

I guess what they really want is for you to take a copy of all the packets with you for the actual interview. They didn't even give me back the originals that were sent in the IV packet. That came in the DHL envelope with my husband's passport and visa.

I did get my original divorce certificate on the day of the interview.

I made sure we had copies of all the packets starting with the I-130 packet and everything that followed after that! Only because I have read the horror stories to where people's paperwork hadn't made it to the embassy before their interviews. I didn't want to leave anything open. I even had the NOAs from the uscis!!!

Along with all the chat records, emails, phone records, 2 photo albums etc.....:wacko::wacko:
